these boots are very well made, with super simple styling and a very comfortable fit. they are really waterproof (granted, I haven't yet worn them in a total downpour, but in a steady rain they kept my feet totally dry).
the protection is minimal to be sure, but certainly better than any sneaker and even some boots would offer. reinforced toes, heel and ankle as stated. but nobody would know they're riding shoes, and I've had several compliments to boot (no pun intended).
i generally wear a size 13 US, and ordered a 47 which fits perfectly (with just a little extra room left for when thick socks are necessary). i imagine the size 48 would be way too big.
for a daily commuter they are exactly what I was looking for.
For the tour rider looking for a winter glove that offers the best value, the ZOOM H2O is a great choice. The hard shell knuckle is integrated directly under the leather, making that there is no seam around the knuckle. This adds to the glove's safety and gives it its unique appearance. PROTECTION FEATURES Outer shell cowhide, goatskin, digital grip Insulation Fiberfill, Tri-Fleece Liner Protection leather hard shell knuckle, EVA foam at fingers, palm and cuff Waterproofing REVIT! Hydratex Z-liner (5000mm H2O) Breathability REVIT! Hydratex Z-liner (5000g/m2/24hrs) ERGONOMIC FEATURES Fit Tour Fit Adjustability adjustment strap at wrist, adjustment tab at cuff Features stretch lips at fingers and wrist, elastic at wrist, regular cuff length
These gloves are extremely warm and aren't so bulky that they get in the way of controls. Haven't tried them out in the rain yet, but if they're really waterproof that'll be nice for a change. The insulation is like that thinsulate stuff... I've ridden in the mid 40's so far and my hands were nice and toasty.
As with any other Rev'It product, the sizing runs very small. I first got the XL and when my hands were on the grips my pinky was getting crushed by the glove, so I moved up to a XXL and now they fit just perfectly.

I had the AFX37 and really liked it, then I had the Joe Rocket DS helmet and liked that as well... but this 39 is on a whole other level in every respect. The fit is very comfortable, it's lighter than the 37, there are tons of added vents so airflow is excellent, the shield has little to no noticeable distortion, it has a breath guard and doesn't fog up. With all the vents it is a bit noisier than the previous model.
I honestly think this helmet kicks the Joe Rocket DS helmet's butt, and it's about $50 cheaper.
Note on the fit - My head measurement fell between a small and a medium, and because some people said it runs small (customer service) and others said it runs large, I ordered both to try them on. The small was just too small on the crown of my head and actually hurt a bit, and seemed too small in terms of the 'height' of my head as well (my chin stuck out a bit). The medium fits comfortably and snuggly, though I could possibly use larger cheek pads. The breath guard does just barely touch my nose, but nothing ridiculous.

I feel so much safer knowing this is on my bike. It's a rugged, sturdy disc lock and the alarm is very loud. It goes off with any considerable movement (sometimes does go off when a big truck drives by, but hey...). If you live anywhere where people are going to f*ck with your bike, I highly recommend it.
