Brief history: I live on the gulf coast where torrential rain is a common occurrence. I began two years ago replacing all my leaky gear with bona fide Gore Tex. I wanted a truly waterproof glove to wear from 60f to 80f and all summer in rain but there hasn't been much available in the way of summer weight Gore Tex glove. Last summer I bought the Dianese Veleta, a very good glove but the fingers were short on me and caused discomfort. So I got on the phone to gear geek extraordinaire Andy and explained the problem I had with the finger length. I put him to the task of trying on all the latest Gore Tex Xtrafit gloves in the store. He got back to me in a couple of hours with his findings. I was leaning toward a Rukka glove but the finger length was no different. Enter the REV'IT! Roadstar!
Impression: Substantially longer digits. I measure just under 9 1/4" around the hand and Andy recommended up-sizing to XL. The fit is "pick up a dime" spot on. The longer gauntlet is easy to slip my Defender jacket's Gore Tex liner cuff over for a positive rain seal. Perfect. The under-the-cuff design is more technical which does mean taking a few more seconds donning and doffing. There's no skipping the wrist adjuster here.
Summary: Gore Tex, technical fit and features, beefy protection in a lightweight glove that feels like it isn't there is what justifies the hefty price tag of the Roadstar.

I'm in the process of replacing all my "waterproof" gear with bona fide Gore Tex. I've been looking for a glove to use in the 60 to 80 degree range and all summer long in the wet. I wanted something to fill the void between my Alaska and Dirt gloves. The Veleta is more robust than it looks and has a strong pre-curved shape that feels good on the grips. The palm and knuckle protective elements you'd expect from Dianese are present. The gauntlets are made to fit easily under the cuffs but not over. The Gore Tex x-trafit membrane is bonded to the outer layer and the inner liner is minimal. I donned them in 92 degree heat and of course they were warm compared to my mesh gloves but the materials breathe so my hands did not get clammy. So far I think the Veleta is just what I was looking for - perfect for my intended use.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I rode all the way form Texas just to see your store (not really) and I tried on every Gore-Tex glove in your 2010 winter glove guide video. The Alaska was your top pick in its class and rightfully so. Warmth and comfort are superb and It also has the protection features I love about the "Dirt" which is my summer glove. The gauntlet cinches up tight enough to allow me to pull the Gore-Tex liner of my Defender jacket over when the going gets wet. Outstanding glove/jacket combination!. Thanks!

The D616 has the most aggressive tread pattern available in a 180/55/17. It offers great road manners, superb wet traction and is reasonably good when meandering down an occasional dirt road. The front is still in pristine shape at 9k but don't expect more than 5k out of the rear unless you really baby it.

The DIRT summer glove offers the perfect balance between protection and ventilation. Lightweight mesh and perforated leather parts allow air to flow freely along the hands, keeping you cool. The level of safety is exceptional for a mesh glove, thanks to high-quality leather, dual-comp palm slider, Albany cowhide hard-shell knuckle, and PU-injected finger knuckles. The DIRT is comfort and safety rolled into one glove.
