KurtMilwaukee's Reviews

Arai CT-Z Helmet Arai introduced the CT-Z to their open-face helmet line after digesting years of real world rider feedback from their XC-RAM helmet. The XC-RAM was an incredibly successful helmet that provided exceptional value and convenience to riders. The Arai CT-Z uses the XC-RAM as a foundation and adds another level of convenience. Arais main objective for the CT-Z helmet is to provide riders with an open-face helmet that improved their experience riding into the sun without limiting ventilation, aerodynamics, or face shield functionality. Arai doesnt change for the sake of change. They change to improve. The CT-Z is a nice improvement to Arai's helmet line. Features Removable and replaceable interior liners New cheekpad design is now more low-profile Upper vent system borrowed from the Arai Corsair V helmet Adjustable peak helps reduce sun glare and is designed to provide minimal lift at highway speeds Thinner face shield pods increase aerodynamics Brow vents channel air direct to the temples Snell 2010 certified

This Arai 3/4 helmet is as quiet as my full-face Shoei! The field of vision tricks you into forgetting that you even have a helmet on. The two air vents in the clear shield are actually functional and noticeable on a hot/humid day. I rode all day and at times the helmet just disappears, you forget you're wearing it. It runs true to size. In some helmets I would be a medium but I am a small in this helmet with a 22 inch circum. Fits perfectly. Parting with the $548 wasn't easy but I'm now selling three other helmets that this ONE helmet easily replaces. For added safety I suggest picking up reflective Nathan Laboratories adhesive stickers for night time riding.
Sunglasses fit easily behind the wind screen and the functional visor actually works. It's a cool look too, sort of dirt bike-meets-touring. I own a Harley FatBob. Exterior helmet shell is a small size so you won't look like an egg head.
