My Honda Elite 80 is a fun scooter, but it needs storage space. I was looking around to find out what I could mount on this where I could store my helmet and a textile jacket while it's parked during the day, and I kept hearing good things about Givi. Shad cases are less expensive, but you have to buy a mounting kit separate.
I had questions about installation and returns, so I emailed Revzilla customer service. They got back to me in an hour or two, with useful answers. When I asked if I could just open the box to see if the mounting plate would fit (because Givi's instructions are a bit lacking online) he said I could still return it.
I ordered the case at around 3 PM on a Thursday afternoon. It was delivered by 4 PM on Friday. As in, THE NEXT DAY. In 25 hours. Since I live in NJ and they ship from the Philly area, it was quick as the dickens. I was stunned at how fast the free shipping was.
It took a few minutes to find where on the mounting plate I could put the bolts and brackets to mount it, but once I IDed them, it was just a large Allen key and crescent wrench to tighten everything in.
After trial and error I had the mounting plate in the right position, and I clipped the trunk in place with zero issues. After I figured out the weird means of latching the trunk closed, it was second nature.
There's zero issues with visibility, which is a pleasant surprise given that it's a 45-liter top case. It's easy on and off, and it looks like I can still have my wife ride 2-up with me while it's on.
I definitely recommend this case even for tiny scooters like mine. If you've got a 5" by 6" rear rack you'll do just fine. You can still grab the grab bar to maneuver the scooter should the need arise. For the price I paid, it's a darn fine bang for the buck. Seriously, get this for your scooter and carry ALL the stuff!
Yes, I recommend this product.
