All the important features built in - extreme protection, great fit, quiet and light. I'm a new (returning) rider and wanted to get back with minimal cash outlay. I've been riding and racing bicycles for 30 years and started comparing costs and return. My bicycle helmets easily retail for over $250, I have a 10 to 14 oz. helmet that has great airflow and will protect up to about 50 mph. For the motorcycle, I need a helmet that will give me protection well over 60 mph, be comfortable, quiet and do a great job protection against sand, rocks, bugs at 70 mph. After looking around and talking to people, spending $70 for a helmet was no longer adequate. Even upping to $300 or $400 may not be enough. I found there are really only two modulars on the market worth considering - Shoei Neotech and the Schubreth C3. In the long term I am actually SAVING $200 or more by going with this helmet now. I have a friend who started riding a year ago, he bought a $300 modular and thinks it is too heavy and noisy. He's ready to move up. If I had done the same, I would buy this Schubreth in a year, in the meantime I would have spent $400 on another helmet, which I may be able to resell for $100, maybe $200, so I would have spent the extra $200 for the lesser helmet, had to put up with a heavy and noisy helmet for a year. This is a great helmet.
