So I was looking for a shoe that I could wear on the commute as well as in the work place. Unfortunately my work has metal detectors (I work for a major online retailer, go figure) and the sliders' bolts set them off. I still worked one day with them and I feet were screaming after a 10 hour shift. The soles are pretty much a thin layer of felt and and thin layer of foam rubber about 1/16" thick so beware. After a half hour my heels were starting to get sore.
On the road, these boots feel very protective. Great padding and security around the ankle bone even if it doesn't go up that high. Air flow is decent. Not the best but pretty good figuring all the layers and protection this boot has. The velcro straps stay on pretty good. In a busy warehouse you can still hear when I rip them off to adjust them. Seating on the pegs can be a little awkward at first but they have a nice grip and will stay seated wherever you choose. Very nice shock absorption makes the ride much smoother.
So in conclusion, these boots are awesome on the road. If you want to walk in these, ditch the soles and buy yourself some premium athletic gel insoles (not that cheap dollar trash). I'll attach some images of the ones I put on. After doing that, not only do they feel tremendously more comfortable, it also helped give my feet a more snug fit since I'm still a little smaller than a size 12 and these shoes are generous in sizing. Definitely satisfied with my purchase although I had to face the facts and have 2 pairs of shoes for my situation.
