I don't think the stock handguards would hold up to much, and i like to challenge myself which means probably dropping my bike. on the water cooled GSs the OEM handguard design is WAY flimsier than the previous era of the line... i know the older style guards could take a beating...
barkbusters are the ticket. aluminum from bar end to solid mount at the handlebar. on the GS though i would get the "storm" version of the handguards. the VPS do not provide enough weather protection. plus the storm covers aren't splattered with a huge white logo! (personal opinion).
a fitment note on my bike (R1200GSWA): you will not get full bar lock in either direction as these guards drop very low below the bar (unnessarily low imo). the bottom of the guard will touch the tank plastics on the adventure with the bars at their stock height. i have my bars raised 25mm for riding while standing and for better egos while slabbing it, so the clearance is perfect (3/8"+).

i've previously owned the touratech zega top box with rapid trap ($$$). it's a great box, but i destroyed it in a crash (saved my camera gear though). not wanting to spend as much on touratech, but wanting a solild brand, givi fits the bill. it's also lighter and roomier plus it's aerodynamic (this could have been a factor in my crash) also the reflective elements up high are real plus for visibility. no idea if it will protect my camera gear going down at 80 mph on the highway like the touratech box did... i don't see why not... but i don't intend to find out. it's a nice system with a high quality of build—and a real key (can't say the same for the touratech locks). i pair it with the aluminum SRA5112 givi mount designed for the R1200GSWA, it's a great piece. much better than the plastic givi mounts i've seen. the bike looks very stock with the top case off. it's a hard part to find in stock at the moment. if i could have purchased it at revzilla i would have. with the V46 on, there is the perfect amount of clearance to still open the stock pannier lids.

Sidi Canyon Gore-Tex Boots Features Top grain leather construction Contrasting texture upper Equipped with a GORE-TEX waterproof-breathable membrane Velcro closure system above the ankle Micro adjustable strap system below the ankle Full length inner gaiter Rigid nylon innersole Removable arch support Internal heel protection Internal ankle protection Internal toe protection Leather toe shift-brake pad Nylon plate and internally padded shin plate Double stitched in all high stress areas Reflective panels Bonded non-slip lug type sole Non-Bootie Designs Sidi boots do not incorporate inner booties into their design, and for good reason. Booties make the design larger and cumbersome add to the boots thickness, which interferes with shifting, plus the inner booties retain body heat affecting the riders performance and comfort. Gore-Tex Striving for peak performance Whether its a day on a wet track, a long distance tour through all types of conditions, or simply pursuing your everyday adventures, Sidi GORE-TEX lined boots will help you get there. Designed to provide comfort and protection, Sidi GORE-TEX boots keep your feet dry, even when you encounter snow, or rain. Each Sidi GORE-TEX boot is totally waterproof to keep moisture from penetrating inside, yet incredibly breathable to allow sweat to escape. This high breathability is critical to your comfort because, simply put, sweaty feet are uncomfortable feet. Inside waterproof boots that are not breathable, moisture builds up and has nowhere to go. It then remains trapped against your skin, leaving your feet clammy, uncomfortable, and more prone to develop blisters. This can be even more of a problem in high aerobic activities because the more active you are, the more your feet sweat were talking up to one full cup of water a day! Sidis GORE-TEX lined boots is specifically designed to provide comfort and protection on a hard ride or for longer rides when the weather is warmer. The patented GORE-TEX membrane is where it all starts. Nestled between the boots outer top grain leather and the inner liner, this membrane keeps water out while letting your perspiration vapor escape. As part of Sidis waterproof guarantee, EVERY boot produced is tested for waterproofness and breathability. And, to make sure the whole boot breathes the way it should, all leather and other textile materials used to construct Sidi GORE-TEX boots are tested for breathability as well. So go on take that extra step. Take it in total comfort because youre wearing Sidi GORE-TEX boots!

Yes it's true. And I'm still wearing them—I had to replace the buckles on both sides, which Revzilla carries at a great price. Both buckles where completely destroyed (but like I said, they are replaceable) and the ends of the plastic ratchet bands were scuffed but the part that actually locks in the buckle was obviously protected by the buckle in the crash...
This is my second pair of Sidi boots. Honestly I wouldn't buy any other brand. Simply amazing.
In terms of fit, my other Sidis are a size 41, which is my "correct" size. They do fit and I can wear them all day (standing on the pegs or sitting on the bike) with BMW wool socks. However, getting a size 42 is even more comfortable, so I'd say they run a little small—going up one size would be a good idea.

After my first multi day trip with the C3, shuberths "flagship" model, I immediately purchased the C2 upon my return. The liner design of the C3 is such that there is a pressure point in the mid-top forehead—everyone I've seen who has this helmet has this indent in the forehead after wearing it....either your head breaks in or the helmet does...my head never broke in i guess. After several days of the C3, it became really really uncomfortable. This issue is completely gone with the C2, better liner, slightly more oval shape, same great features....and i realize that i prefer a non-flip helmet.

i've had 2 versions of this glove. the styling on the newer version is way better than the older one, function is identicle. glove fits very weil, thumb is a tad long on me but fine on the bikes, all other fingers are perfect. with good hand protection and heated grips on the bike this glove will do fine in winter. i've found myself wearing it in freezing temps with no issues at all, much more feel than a full "winter" glove....on an unfared bike though i need a bit more in the warmth dept. rain? no problems. perfect.

Sidi Adventure GTX Boots Based on the outstanding success of the Sidi Adventure Rain Boots , it has been decided that the full Gore-Tex version of the boot will be imported from Italy. Previously this boot was only available in Europe. This ultimate adventure boot combines the best of both worlds (offroad and touring) into a boot that is extremely protective as well as comfortable both on and off the bike. With the Gore-Tex membrane these boots are 100 waterproof as well being highly breathable. These boots come with the Gore-Tex Guaranteed to Keep You Dry promise. Soft rubber sole for maximum grip. Replaceable strap system. Top grain leather construction. Composite inner sole. Removable arch support. Exclusive cam-lock buckle system. Cambrelle lining. Slim, cool non-bootie design. Rigid, shock resistant, anatomically shaped heel for maximum protection. Split grain leather inner anti-wear/heat panel. Single Flex System upper.

Simply superb!
First off regarding fit. Personally i don't get the sizing guidelines I've seen for this boot on revzilla and on other sites. One site actually had a full walkthrough with tracing your foot on paper and measuring it with a ruler—result was a solid 42 for me. In US sizing i'm a solid 8.5, that converts to a 42 on the Sidi chart. In US sizing i often wear a 9 for a decent "boot" fit where one can often handle a bit of room. If shoes need to fit perfect like for hiking, motorcycling, etc....8.5 US for me.
I'm comparing this boot in terms of sizing to 2 other pairs. My go to boot is the BMW all-round. Great boot—I was able to try on multiple sizes in the store and went with a 41, been ideal for over 2 years. My other boot is a Dainese. In that boot I'm a 42 and the conversion inside is listed as US 9....they fit much narrower than the BMW boots...the 41 in the Dainese hit my toes...incidentally the BMW boots are made in Italy where the italian brand Dainese are made in Indonesia? What?
On a lark, because this boot is out of stock everywhere in 42 and I really wanted it bad for a trip in June....i figured I'd order the 41, because my BMW boots were a 41, and see if they fit...both being Italian made...worst case, i'd swap for a 42 and maybe jump the queue a bit with an exchange status...
41 is perfection in the Sidi, for me. I'm actually at the limits of how tight I can adjust the second buckle....and I adjusted the top of the foot buckle a little tighter as well...
Point is, everyone is saying these fit true to size so either my idea of my own foot size is wrong (it's not—I've never worn a 7-7.5 US in my life)...or there are several factors to account for and this just worked out for me and my feet...plus my experience has been that leather boots will give over time...point is don't assume you will fit these according to the Sidi chart. Incidentally on the actual box there is a conversion scale...and the 41 more aligns with 8-8.5 NOT 7-7.5....so whatever....try on a couple of sizes...
FIT AND FINISH ARE NUTTY GOOD. I MEAN AWESOME. I don't think i'll ever buy another brand. Seriously. I could care less about price if I'm getting the best for what I need...plus my body is priceless and totally at risk on a motorcycle....i'll never understand people who penny pinch gear when riding on 2 wheels...but that's just me!
Comfy within minutes out of the box. No squeaking either...but with some more use I don't know...
Yes, I recommend this product.
