Icon Variant Helmet - Solid Survival is a matter of enhanced situational awareness - an unforgiving maze of gravel strewn corners and malevolent steel. Introducing the Variant helmet from Icon. A wind tunnel refined shape, executed in a Fiberglass/ Dyneema/Carbon matrix, along with a dual-density EPS core provide critical impact energy management. Extensive venting and a removable HydraDry wicking liner provide increased comfort by reducing rider fatigue. The anti-lift visor directs and channels airflow as it reduces the glare from an unyielding UV assault, while the extended eyeport and zero distortion optics provide an unrivaled field of view. If the streets are your area of operation - equip yourself for the fight with the Icon Variant . Good looking and comfortable helmet with some poor engineering. The brim on the top certainly grabs a lot of air, when turning your head at speeds above 40mph. I purchased a gold visor to replace the stock visor (even though many of the other reviews told me that changing the visors was difficult). The Visor changing scheme on this helmet was very poorly executed and even after watching youtube tutorials and consulting the icon instruction booklets, I found that the process is still harder than it should be. It's not that it's a lengthy process, it is just that it requires you to muscle delicate parts (tiny plastic tabs on the visor and gear-mechanism on the helmet) in ways that will ultimately break them. I have a feeling that each owner, if changing the visor, will go through a series of suspenseful plastic snapping sounds before being potentially successful. When changing the visor you also need to wrestle with the brim, as it is perfectly in the way and covers the visor gear mechanism. If you look in the photos, you can see the tiny tabs I am referring to, one is fine and the other is not. If you get this helmet you better be ok with the clear stock visor.
No, I do not recommend this product.
