After much research, questions (all answered quickly by the RevZilla team) and some in store fittings (where I could) I made the choice to purchase this helmet.
I was worried about the sizing and shape and have always purchased my helmet at the local shops, but no one had this one, and in recent years have become less helpful and knowledgeable about products, as well as having less of an inventory to choose from. In fact I was very disappointed with overall gear selections at dealers and "gear" shops.
Back to the product...
RevZilla:
I had many questions on sizing as I was coming off years of riding Arai. The team here answered all my questions promptly and with great detail. They really cared about me getting the right helmet and size. Product was shipped and received as scheduled.
The Shoei GT-Air:
Initially after trying the helmet on at a local dealer, it seemed to be too tight a fit with my size (L) though I was right in the range per Shoei's sizing. I also am a intermediate oval shape so was concerned over how snug it was. As it was not tight on the crown but hard to get on and off as well as tight in the cheek area. The dealer recommended the XL, but that moved around way too much on my head.
RevZilla, after a direct email to me, determined that a L would be the appropriate size. I received the helmet and found it too tight in the cheek area as before, but per a suggestion by the RevZilla contact removed the cheek pads and placed them under a heavy book for a few hours. After which the helmet felt perfect on my head. Though getting it on and off is still a squeeze with some adjustment to get my ears in place once on.
Wind noise is greatly reduced but I am comparing this to a 5 year old Arai Signet GT-R but what a difference. The built in sun shade is a great feature as well, and the helmet is a bit lighter but much more comfortable on my head as no buffeting or "sailing" when I turn my head. View is good a wide and it seems I have much more space in front of my jaw as well. Venting seems to be okay as I was wearing this in 100+ degrees this past weekend and no issues, though I did not feel the airflow.
With the shield up, and the sun shade down there is some wind blast but that is to be expected. It was also noisy with the shield slightly open as well. Once closed however it was very quiet.
Very happy with the new helmet and service, support and site.
