This is a continuation to my review on the FirstGear rain jacket. Now for the pants. I have a 34" waist and 32" inseam. These pants fit will over my riding pants. Trouble is, they seem to have about a 36" inseam and I can pull the waist half way up my belly! They are simply too long for a size LG. This would be the length for an XL in my opinion. They do exactly what they say, are light weight, pack into a built in pouch (Which I dislike) and are reflective. DO NOT GET THEM CLOSE TO HOT EXHAUST! I'm sure they will not last long if you do. The pants unzip from the ankle to knee, but its like an expansion, a gator if you will. I have size 9 feet, not too big. I can BARELY get my leg into the pants with my boots on and MUST be sitting down to fiddle with getting them on. This is really my whole issue. I am almost sweating to just get the silly pants on! The rain gear doesn't breathe quickly enough to get rid of sweat! This gear really works and I suppose we give up a little convenience to stay dry. Would I buy it again? In a heartbeat! It really does work to keep my dry, is light weight, packs small anyone should be able to see me coming!

I purchased both the pants and jacket. I'll review just the jacket here. First, I am 5'9" 190lbs. 44" chest and 34" waist 16 1/2" neck. I have a snug fitting Joe Rocket mesh jacket with armor in it that I put on first. it is size LG and fits me perfect. I put the rain jacket over the top of the Joe Rocket jacket. It does fit! The sleeves are long enough to cover everything! The waist, belly and chest are covered with maybe 1/2" of space to spare. This is the first small issue. On my Ducati, I have to lean over a bit and could have used a little more wiggle room, it gets snug! This wouldn't be a problem in an upright riding position. The jacket is long enough to completely cover my waist, in fact, I can sit on the tail of the jacket.....barely. The second small issue for me is the neck is pretty tight over another jacket. It needs to be to keep the rain out but maybe 1/4" more would have helped. The third issue is I hate the built in pocket/pouch the jacket packs into. Way more work than just a simple gear bag to throw it into. Would I buy this set again? EVERY TIME! Super light weight, packs small, great color and reflectivity and it stops the rain as it say's. I added a photo to show the reflective strips. They look black/grey on the jacket but really reflect light!

I find the HJC IS MAX BT doesn't vent too well and is a bit noisier than I thought it would be. I bought this for the ability to use the Chatterbox BT communicator. A friend I ride with at times has the setup and I figured we could chat as the setup is pretty nice. Overall I'm happy with the purchase and would buy it again. I think for the price it's a good helmet but I really wish it vented better and was a little quieter. Oh, another thought, I bought the Matte Black and love how it looks. That is one thing HJC pulled off very well.
