Shoei RF-1200 Helmet - Solid The Shoei RF 1200 represents years of development and evolution of the Shoei RF Helmet series, distilled into one of the most advanced sport helmets available. The RF1200 has evolved through both wind tunnel testing and on-track rider feedback into a helmet that is light-weight, quiet and most of all extremely safe. Slim And Light Weight Design One of the most important features of a quality helmet is that you hardly know its there protecting your head. Shoei has reduced the weight of the RF-1200 by using a slimmer design and building a distinct line into the side of the helmet that also serves as an accent. As a result, the new Shoei RF-1200 is lighter than any other Snell certified helmet in the current Shoei lineup. Shell Construction The new slim design of the Shoei RF-1200 , with its distinct accent cut line, widens the bottom of the helmet to help ease the process of putting the RF-1200 on or taking it off. Further advancing the comfort of the AIM+ shell is the industry leading four shell sizes that the Shoei RF-1200 comes in. The impact-absorbing dual liner consists of two layers incorporating different densities, helping to effectively balance the potential impact applied to the more rigid shell. Quietness Through advancements in the aerodynamic shape, improved interior linings and a new and improved shield system the rider will experience a very quiet and comfortable riding experience. The interior of the RF-1200 has achieved a balance of a comfortably soft fit and a firm, stable hold. The new design of the cheek pads also improves the motion of the neck, thus helping the rider to check traffic behind him/her for example. Shield System The new CWR-1 Pinlock shield features ribs on top and bottom of the shield to improve rigidity and eliminate bending of the shield caused by wind pressure or the opening and closing of the shield. Independent beading in the top and sides of the Shoei RF-1200 help to keep the seal of the shield tight and eliminate any excess air. In addition to the CWR-1 shield, Shoei has developed a new base plate for the RF-1200. The Quick-Release Self-Adjusting base plate is spring-loaded and pulls the shield back onto the helmet, sealing it tightly against wind and rain. The addition of a new five-stage rotating dial allows for fine tuning of the base place for easy shield adjustments. Ventilation A large lower three position vent, three upper air vent intakes and four uniquely positioned upper exhaust outlet vents combine with the Dual Density EPS liner to allow cooling air to travel unrestricted through tunnels created in the EPS liner. Features Four shell sizes Dual density EPS liner Superior ventilation 3D Max-Dry System II Liner E.Q.R.S. (Emergency Quick-Release System) CWR-1 Shield System Neatly secure chin strap Includes Pinlock pins and lens insert Includes breath guard and chin curtain Snell M2010 and DOT Certified Note Due to manufacturer restrictions, the Shoei RF-1200 and other Shoei products can only be shipped to addresses within the United States

The color is good, and the features are good. However, you have to put some of the features on yourself. Chin curtain and nose guard. So far I put the chin curtain on...and it was a little tricky.
I ride a upright bike and a sport bike...my goal was to reduce noise while riding the up right since the windshield wind breaks right at the top of the helmet and create noise. This helmet seems better than my Bell...
I think that just because of the new 3D liners inside all helmets are going to do this. It's funny they calling this a good feature...but from what I can see it saves the company money. My old HJC CL-12 helmet from 2002 is quieter than both these helmets. Why...no 3D liner...full liner.
On the plus side...I truly like the feature for people that wear glasses, it has the cut outs and my glasses fit in perfect. However, at high speeds...135+ glasses moved around a lot.
Later this year suppose to have the transitional lens...

So far I like the style of the glove. Protection looks good. Still breaking it in, but so far my only compliant is the thumb inside stitching. You can feel it pressing against your thumb nail. I hope that once it's broken it this will not be an issue.

Such a nice feature...little expensive, but if you stick with Bell helmets...it should be compatible. Hopefully...

Bell Vortex Helmet Nothing beats a solid color to highlight the stylish design of a helmet. The Bell Vortex is available in a choice of gloss black, matte black, white or silver four classic color choices in the riding spectrum. Developed in Bells state-of-the-art Santa Cruz, California design center, the Vortex borrows heavily from its big brother the Star. With a solid compliment of features the Bell Vortex is a great choice as a primary helmet for everyday use that can also transition to the occasional track day. A killer price rounds out the package and gives you a big bang for your buck. Features Velocity Flow Ventilation system with FlowAdjust for maximum stability and temperature control with minimal noise and buffeting Lightweight composite polycarbonate alloy shell Contour cheek pads (by means of stacked foam, not hand cut) Removable and washable, antibacterial/antimicrobial interior comfort liner Padded Wind collar to drastically reduce wind/road noise Integrated speaker pockets for audio speakers ClickRelease for the fastest, easiest, tool-free shield swaps ever Clear NutraFog II superior anti-fog, anti-scratch and UV protected shield. Note Bell Vortex Helmet may come with either the magnetic strap keeper or standard chin strap snaps RevZilla's Opinion of the The Bell Vortex Helmet The Bell Vortex Helmet has grown to be one of the top selling and more ubiquitous 200 sport helmets in the RevZilla family. The light weight, Snell Rating and ability to use the Bell Photochromic shield allow the Bell Vortex Helmet to cover a lot of the bases the typical sport or track day rider is looking for in a reasonably priced helmet. Many times we see this type of functionality only available in helmets over the 300 mark. In the 3/4 or tuck position the Bell Vortex Helmet will provide a great solution in just about any spirited or sport riding scenario. If you find a graphic or color that suits your taste and you have an intermediate oval head shape, the Bell Vortex is a great option.

The fit is perfect (L) and I upgraded the visor. The only negative is the wind noise. And it's at the top of the helmet. While setting noise protection is about normal. However, once you start moving (keep in mind I'm sitting up right) you heard the wind as soon as you start. Also, turning your head to check for traffic, the top vents whistle.
This is a sub $200 helmet...but the fit and style and the new visor kind of makes up for it. However, I think I will be upgrading the Bell's next level maybe in about a year. Not sure if I need ear plugs so far the longest ride has been about 30 minutes...so it didn't bother me too much. We'll see on a longer ride.
Yes, I recommend this product.
