Fit - "A "
I was certain about the style, but weary about the fit and this is what I scoured the internet for.
I have a wide foot and normally wear size 10 US EE and also have custom orthotics.
The boot I ordered is Euro 44 which is a true fit sz 10 US, no need to order size up/down.
To my surprise the boots were very comfortable, the built-in arch support was enough I didn't have to insert my orthotics; plenty of room at the toes, tight fit in mid foot, heel is cupped well. Flexibility is good adds to the comfort. I wouldn't recommend wearing thick socks as there isn't much ventilation after the boot is fully laced up, however it is waterproof.
Protection - "B"
This isn't the best boot for full protection, but you know this before buying these boots. Toes, heel, and ankle sides are reinforced. Laces are great and have some elasticity and shouldn't get in the way of shifting or breaking. Its reinforced enough to provide decent protection for this style of boot yet doesn't impede on the minimalist look. Soles are flat and offer decent grip on dry surfaces, but I did lose my footing on wet pavement and fortunately recovered.
Style - "A"
Simple, minimal but stands out. Full black leather, black laces, worn look rubber sole. TCX logo is small round and muted. Its not far off from the styling of classic Converse. I've worn them to work and looks great with any casual clothes.
The only thing I didn't care for the was greased, worn look of the white edging of the trim; you can rub off the black with some elbow grease and expose the white.
Sum up...
Simple styling, decent protection, fair price.
I hope they can offer the same styling with greater ventilation, but good to know my feet should remain dry in wet weather.
I would buy these again and they are the BEST boots I've owned thus far. Rating - a solid "A-"
