I purchased this headset to allow me to receive phone calls while riding. It has far exceeded my expectations.
The headset is relatively straightforward to install. The biggest hassle is pulling out the helmet lining and routing the cables. I suspect the design of the helmet has more to do with it than the headset. Once installed in my Shoei RF-1200, with the wires concealed, the mic and speakers nicely tucked out of the way, and only the charging cable hanging out slightly at the back (as is necessary to access it). The control unit sticks unobtrusively on the lower left side of the helmet.
Pairing with my iPhone was simple and the controls are very easy to use. As a bluetooth headset, the Sena 3S-W works extremely well. The speakers are loud and clear and the noise-canceling works so well that callers can not only hear me well, but are completely unaware that I am riding my very loud Harley. Making calls is also easy, as the unit supports voice dialing, which works as well as that on my phone. Push a button, wait for the beep, say the name, and wait to be connected. The only drawback is that if you push the button a little too long, the headset thinks you are trying to pair with another phone and disconnects from your current one. There are beeps to tell you when to release the button, but if you miss it, suddenly your headset is disconnected, as has happened to me 2-3 times. That is a design flaw that can presumably be corrected in software.
The 3S-W is less ideal for music. It works, but the speakers are not particularly high-fidelity. After trying it out once, I decided I would probably not use it for listening to music.
Overall an excellent bluetooth headset for making and receiving calls. Easy to use, good clarity, and great noise-canceling. Adequate for music if you aren't too picky about sound quality.

The pinlock system works as advertised. It reduces fogging on the inside of the faceshield. The only downside is that you need a pinlock ready faceshield, which can cost you another $50.
It also doesn't prevent your glasses from fogging up. In other words, it isn't magic, and can't prevent all fogging inside the helmet, but it nicely reduces fogging on the inside of the faceshield.

I have been wearing these helmets for many years: RF-600, RF-800, RF-1100. They fit my head well, are reasonably comfortable, are not too heavy, and generally do what they need to do. I have never hit my head in one, but as Snell and DOT rated helmets, these are as safe as they get.
My one gripe is that the face shield has no antifog treatment and is not pinlock ready. At stoplights, the face shield ALWAYS fogs up. Adding a pinlock system will cost you another $80, in part because you have to get a new face shield to hold it.

These cheek pads replace the standard cheek pads in the Shoei RF-1100. The stock ones are too thick for me, giving me fish lips when I wear the helmet. These make the helmet fit properly. I am glad these exist, and they work fine, but I am disappointed that I have to pay another $40 to make my $400 helmet fit properly. Like helmet size, cheek pad size should be something you can specify when ordering the helmet.
