Arai Signet-Q Helmet - Solid Colors The Signet-Q takes all the favorite features of the RX-Q and create a whole new series based on all the successes. On the outside, the Arai Signet-Q Helmet looks very similar to it's namesake, the RX-Q, but on the inside you can see and feel the difference. A longer shell shape on the Arai Signet-Q Helmet gives 5mm more space front to back allowing for a larger number of heads to fit comfortably. The shape of the Arai Signet-Q Helmet releases forehead pressures and eliminate hot spots for a more comfortable fit every time. This shape works best for riders with a long oval headshape. Additional Features of the Arai Signet-Q Helmet Both the top vent set and side exhaust cowls are direct carryovers from the RX-Q Brow vent ducting redirects to flow air across the temples DDL-4 exhaust vent to the 10mm wider eye port (5mm on each side) Long Oval Fit SAI MAX-Vision Brow Vent shield Clear Pinlock Max-Vision Brow Vent Pinlock lens included Elongated shell adds 5mm from front to back Long-Oval shape helps prevent Hot-Spot Multi-Density Single piece EPS liner Removable, replaceable, washable interior Dry-Cool Surface material for rapid displacement of heat and moisture away from your head and into the ventilation airflow for added comfort while riding and a quick dry between rides 5mm peel-away temple pads adds another level of customization, giving the helmet interior a little extra width when needed Enhanced for customizable micro fitment interior without the need to purchase extra interior components New FCS (Facial Contour Support) cheek pad design Innovative and exclusive spring support adds just the right amount of pressure when needed while being worn Meets or exceeds Snell and D.O.T. standards

For one of the most expensive helmets on the market, I'm not impressed. I even had to file a complaint with the BBB as the pin lock visor had cosmetic anomalies and the visor pin lock screws came stripped (and I didn't want to incurr the cost of shopping it all back to them for what was a problem with their manufacturing process).
The helmet itself fits great and is extremely comfortable. It does kick off a fair bit of noise, but is generally well built. The uClear system also mounts beautifully inside the cheek pads, which is terrifix. However, the visor fogs quite a bit (I came from a Scorpion which is actually quite legendary to fog only in extreme cases) and Arai's customer service was actually pretty terrible. You're either funneled through some online ticket system, or hunt for a number and get a snarky woman who promises to call you back but never does.
Sorry, I can't recommend them nor can I really justify the quality for the price. I think I'll give Shoei a try on the next run.
PS: Arai did send me a new pin lock and visor bolts (I guess they didn't want to pony up for a new visor with the bolts already attached) but I did have to escalate the matter. If customer service is important to you, I'd be cautious with these guys.

I have a pair of SMX-5s and love them. I thought the Pluses would be an upgrade but I was wrong; sort of.
My issue with these boots was the lack of sensation, especially on the shift lever. I ride a Ducati Monster and found the profile of the toe hard to slide under the lever and a top the foot peg. Moreover, I couldn't feel the lever. My shifts really suffered and I ended up missing second and getting enough false neutrals to sell them and stick with my 5s.
The improved security is great but I think a better investment are the Supertechs. They have more features and are just as much of an bother (compared to the 5s) to put on. Plus these squeak where the STs do not (as the exoskeleton has been internalized).
I really don't see any place for these as a go between. And I ended up selling mine to a friend.
