The tint and clear are both good colors. You could wear the tint without sunglasses. The snaps are hard to put on and off causing you to have to install the shield when your not wearing it. Would be next to impossible to install with the helmet on. Would like to see biltwell come out with a flip up version of these shields

Biltwell Gringo Helmet When it comes to retro or vintage bikes it is always important to have your gear match the vibe of your ride and for many years that meant wearing either an open face helmet or putting on a crusty old Bell Star or Buco Allsport if you wanted a fullface helmet that looked the part. Well, thanks to the wonderful folks over at Biltwell, the Gringo is here to wrap your head in a combination of old school style and modern safety. The DOT certified Gringo helmet is built to suit the needs of contemporary riders, with a beautifully crafted diamond stitched removable liner, an eyeport that accepts pretty much any type of goggle you could want to wear, as well as 5 snaps that work with any universal 3-snap shield, Biltwells own Bubble shield or their 5-snap Blast shield . So next time you hop on your chop or throw a leg over your Laverda leave that vintage helmet on the shelf where it belongs and grab a Gringo. Features 5 snaps to accommodate flat or bubble face shield Eyeport accepts many dirt or street goggles DOT Approved Bubble Shield and Goggles sold separately Removable liner What else do you need

After wearing a basic 3/4 helmet for past couple years I decided I wanted to go something full face. There are a lot of great helmets out there but nothing that matched the style I wanted until I saw the Gringo. I have the flat silver color and it looks as good as the pictures. I ordered an XL but in the past have worn Large in other brands. The basket padding for the head fits good but slightly loose in the cheek and jaw area. Biltwell doesn't sell replacement cheek pads. I ride a Harley Davidson Road Glide so I'm in a upright touring position. The helmet has great visibility and doesn't weight too much. After doing a couple 3 hour rides the helmet performed as good as expected for a helmet with no vents. The padding wicked sweat pretty well but a couple vents would of been nice on the very hot days but would wreck the look. I do wear prescription eye glasses and felt some pinching on the left ear after riding for awhile. Biltwell's bubble shields are nice but the snaps are too hard to take on and off. I found a exterior bubble flip up shield from another retailer that works for me.
Keep up the good reviews fellas.
