I picked this unit up primarily for integration with a GPS, and secondarily for music. I haven't been able to exercise the intercom yet, since my riding buddies use a different vendor.
Installation was pretty straightforward in my Shoei GT-Air, but there's more wire exposed than I'd normally like due to the way the neck roll integrates into the shell. The unit has a wiring harness that doesn't consider that the battery goes to the back and the mic goes to the front, so you'll want a little scotch tape to keep everything in place. The leads are plenty long enough, tho.
Battery life seems reasonable, and bluetooth range was impressive. Microphone performance is also good, with callers saying the noise from the bike was not extreme at highway speeds. The speakers attached easily, and provide enough volume--but perhaps not enough bass--even at speeds. Adjusting the volume is simple and works well.
The menu structure seems biased towards the intercom feature, rather than controlling your phone. A short push on the center button starts the intercom, while a longer push triggers Siri on my iphone. If the pressure is released prematurely--say, from a bump in the road--you're thrown into the intercom functions and getting back is not always easy. This doesn't appear to be configurable.
Additionally, the center button is delineated from the volume controls by a small ridge, which feels a lot like the seam in my gloves. The Held gloves are better than the A*s in this regard, but some of the functions require chording--simultaneous depression of two buttons--which is tough to do if you don't have little girl hands.
I do like the small size, but I'd like it better if the center button were the same size and as easy to operate as the volume buttons.
No, I do not recommend this product.

I'd been looking for this lid locally for a while; I was able to find the gt-air in XL, but not the black and red Journey. I've put in a couple of hundred miles since getting it, and I'm really pleased with it.
Fitment is nearly identical to my old RF-1000, although the cheekpads are a little fuller.
I like the fully detachable liner, and the integrated visor is awesome...I wear glasses, so if I'm out in the sun in the RF-1000, I used to pack a clear shield if I was going to be out late--no more! A pinlock visor comes in the box, but I haven't needed to use it.
Helmet noise level is about the same as the RF-1000; there's a little whistle during shoulder checks. I tend to ride with the vents wide open. The ventilation is great and the whistle isn't so bad that I'm inclined to close the vents.
Awesome service from Revzilla--I got a call indicating that paying for 2nd day shipping was pointless, since I could expect it to arrive in the same timeframe with the free shipping option. Revzilla rewrote my order, and saved me a few bucks. Thanks, guys!
Yes, I recommend this product.
