REV'IT! Sand Pants The SAND Pants offer 4-season, year round comfort and protection from both pavement and the elements. The SAND Pants offer a double PWR/shell seat and PWR/wax coating on the inside of the legs, for a better grip on the bike. The legs are also versatile thin enough to wear inside the boot, but wide enough to wear over it. Watercatchers prevent water from creeping up into the leg, and a detachable thermal lining and removable 3-layer membrane round out the total comfort of the SAND trousers. Love these pants. Have traveled over 10,000 miles in them, including several 1200+ mile trips. Fit is great, aside from very slight need for a barely longer inseam (my inseam is ~31 and the regular size is just a little short - the length is completely manageable with boots).
With the insulation zipped in, these pants allow for comfortable riding below 35 °F with only a light base layer. Take everything out and you can expect to ride comfortably up to about 90 °F; above and including this temperature and they are pretty warm since air flow through the material is not good. (The vents work reasonably well but not enough to provide long-term comfort at this temperature.) My pants are black, so I can't comment on comfort at high temperature using the lighter color.
The rain liner is great. Have ridden many times in 6+ hour rainfalls without much issue. The most wetness sustained while using these pants was on an 8 hour ride in full rain, and even then only the crotch area had some water wicking through the liner - no soaking, still manageable.

Riders looking for adventure will appreciate the SAND glove. Lightweight and designed for both on- and off-road rides, the SAND is well-ventilated but highly protective. The palm features PU-injected leather for abrasion-resistance, while the back of the glove is a stretch material that affords a snug fit. Separated knuckles with PU-injected protection make the SAND stand out. I bought the lighter color variation of the gloves. They do run a little small relative to the Rev'it sizing guide. For example, my hand is just barely over the large size guidelines but the large gloves are not comfortable at all due to tightness. Normally I wear XL gloves - these gloves in XL fit well.
With correct sizing the fit is great. Almost feels like no gloves at all. Good air flow, pad on the heel of the hand is nice.
My quibble is with the mesh getting caught on the hook and loop when taking off the gloves. Use of the fingertips to undo the cuff is necessary to prevent the mesh from snagging with extreme prejudice. If not for this my rating would be 5-star.

May Be the Best Jacket I've Ever Owned

I purchased both the Sand jacket and pants at the same time - the comments generally below apply to both, but the pro/con inputs here are for the jacket. Keep in mind that I have only had the opportunity to wear the jacket twice, once at 40 F, once at 65 F, so I'll update (if I can) later. Also, I'm 5 ft 11 in (on a rack) and 165 lb soaking wet.
Observations: 1) For me the jacket and pants (size medium in both) fit like a glove. I'd be afraid to gain 15 pounds or the jacket may be a little tight, but so would the rest of my clothes. Other comments about the 'European' cut of the jacket are, for me, true - the fit is slightly unlike any jacket I have worn. This is NOT a negative, only an observation. 2) Older comments about the zips on the sleeves working up away from the wrists put me off a little, but my jacket (2011 ver?) has a snap across the zipper that totally prevents this. 3) The zip around the waist on the pants goes 85% around the body, so when zipped to the jacket the pair are effectively a suit. I didn't realize this when I bought them. 3) Both seem very well constructed, and comments about the well thought-out design seem true to me. 4) I've seen comments about the jacket (and pants) being bulky with both liners installed. I don't find this to be true.
Pros: 1) The jacket is warm. At 40 F and 90 miles per hour the arms are only slightly cool with only a very light long-sleeve base layer underneath. With a more robust base layer I could see riding easily in the 20s. 2) When in riding position the fit is very neutral. The jacket is cut shorter than others I have owned, and this contributes to the good fit. Elbow fit is perfect in riding position, and no material bulging at the mid-section. 3) The jacket weight is low. My other jackets that are just as warm are still more stiff than this jacket (even right out of the box) and weigh more to achieve the same warmth. 4) The zippers on the sleeves are genius. Why aren't all jackets designed like this?
Cons: 1) This is a quibble, but the pockets in the front at the base are small. Really, I don't care; I just wanted to come up with a con.
Yes, it's only been 3 days, but so far I'm completely satisfied with spending the money on this jacket (and pants; see the review).
Pros Warm, Great Value, Fashionable, Comfortable

on the sand pants, is there a separate liner for waterproof or should they be waterproof on there own?
The rain liner is built into the pants and sold together with the pants (and an insulation liner). The outer shell of the pants is only resistant to rain, but with anything other than a light rain water will soak through the outer shell. With the rain liner installed they are effectively waterproof when riding.

Too long or too short?
Is it better to go too long or too short? The short seem just fine as I'm standing but too short when I'm mounted [well above my ankle]. The regular seem long as I'm standing but right when I'm sitting on a bike [at my ankle]. What is the proper length for a motorcycle pant?
My preference is too long, since when riding you bend the knee and it effectively shortens the inseam by at least an inch.
