The pants seem to be well made and quite reasonable for the price paid. The protection offered seems minimal and I wouldn't want to heavily rely on the built in knee pads. For what they are they seem fine.

Nolan N-Com Basic Kit 2 For basic N-COM communication and audio, each helmet must be equipped with a Basic Kit. It includes earphones, a microphone, and two short wires (that hang from the underside of the helmet, and allow you to plug in various devices). The Basic Kit will permit you to listen to your music player, radar detector, GPS unit, etc., and talk on your cell phone, but you must control volume on the source device and answer the phone by pressing the controls on the phone. For connecting to external audio and communications devices, a Multimedia Wire and/or Cell Phone Wire is needed. Installs in minutes without any tools or modifications. For on-helmet volume adjustment and phone answering, E-Box Control and Pillion Communication Kits are available as well Read more in our Nolan N-COM Communication System Buyers Guide Note N103/N43 Gold Wing Kit includes lower cord for use with the audio system of a Honda GL1800.

The product instructions could be better and a relevant N85 online installation video would be helpful.
The sound and microphone quality is excellent but utilization at anything over 60 KPH becomes moot due to wind noise.
Works great to make phone calls and listen to music at slow speeds.
Yes, I recommend this product.

With its interior visor, quick change exterior visor mechanism, communication adaptability, quick release chin strap, included "Pinlock" visor and excellent finish...for the price its tough to beat.
It's only average in terms of comfort, airflow and noise but keep in mind it's an entry level helmet.
If you are needing to remove the communication cover I would suggest removing the left cheek-pad and disengaging the clip with a screwdriver from the inside as the exterior clip mechanism is poorly engineered.
The optional Nolan "basickit 2" is well thought out and sounds great...I am very impressed with the quality of the microphone.
Again, for the price...its hard to complain but I would suggest it would cost little more to provide more comfortable cheek-pad material and additional care in ensuring the rear sizing sticker are placed on straight instead of carelessly slapped on.
Yes, I recommend this product.
