With the purchase of my first dirtbike (Yamaha WR250R), I realized the pants I will be wearing have no knee protection and to me that's a must-have. My brother has a pair of Leatt's so I decided to buy the same. The 3DF 5.0 are a newer version of his. I really like them. They are quite comfortable and therefore not noticeable when riding. The cut-out in the back where your knee bends is a simple but very clever idea, as that's where material would bunch up and cause discomfort. The strap at the top of the guard allows you to keep it in place.
I recently rode in an off-road poker ride which took me about four hours over rocky, brush-filled, sometimes sandy terrain. I fell five different times and the knee guards did their job as I expected them too. The guy I was riding with asked if I got hot or uncomfortable with them while riding and I told him nope - hardly noticed they were there. I think he wished he had a set because he took a rock to the shin just above his boot. An area that for me is covered by the lower part of the knee guard.
I'm not a racer or highly-skilled rider so body protection is pretty important to me, especially since I'm in my upper 50's. I don't think you can go wrong buying a pair of these. From my age on, your knees become pretty dang precious and I certainly want to keep them operational as long as possible. These knee guards are helping me with that goal.

I bought these over the winter, but couldn't really give a review because I hadn't ridden with them yet. Today I did. I find them to be very comfortable and warm. I especially like the storm gator on the bottom of each leg which keeps cold air from rushing upwards. The bottom velcro strap keeps the bottom snug against my boot which is nice when walking as I bought these a size larger than normal and it keeps them from dragging on the ground. I don't like overpants to be tight when riding otherwise I'm constantly fidgeting trying to get comfortable.
One thing I knew I'd be giving up with these is the ability to easily put them on over boots. It's just not going to happen. Perhaps with the liner out, but even then you have to contort a lot to do it. I'm okay with it because I didn't buy them to be pulling them on and off a lot. My old pair of overpants will work for quick trips to work and back.
Overall I'm quite pleased with them and will be using them on a trip to Colorado later in the spring. That's when I'll find out how well the leg vents work.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I ordered this because I wanted a light-weight cover for the bike while traveling. There have been a couple of times where the parking areas were covered with trees and the bike ended up with sap and other junk on it. This is easy to put on and even with my windshield and top case the cover goes all the way down to my tires (I ordered a size large). The little connectors aren't much, but will do the job. This will be nice to travel with as it doesn't take up a lot of space and weight. I'd say it's a very good product for the price considering how I plan to use it.
