Icon PDX Waterproof Gloves If you were to make the riding season in Portland into a pie chart it would look something like a pizza with one small slice missing. The small slice is the time when it's not raining. The rest of the year is well, pretty much wet. Like the rest of our PDX line, the PDX waterproof gloves were made for the rain. Our biggest challenge was to make them waterproof without compromising dexterity and feel. Embossed neoprene flex panels in critical areas provide plenty of flex and pre-curved palm and fingers ensure great feel from your controls. The waterproof textile chassis with over-the-cuff gauntlets keep the moisture out. Protection comes by the way of abrasion-resistant palms and heavy duty construction. Portland based company naming a product after the town they're from. Hey!! I live in Portland, these should be great!!!
"Waterproof" so long as it doesn't rain. Keeps your hands warm so long as it's not cold outside.
These gloves do VERY little to protect from the elements. Additionally, nothing in the way of armor (CF, kevlar, etc) - doubtful they'd do much in the event of a crash. Hands numb after 15 min typical Portland, OR November commute (~40F moderate rain, city speed riding).
These gloves might be good for something, but keeping your hands warm and/or dry in inclement weather isn't one of them.

I took someone else's advice and ordered two rolls of this. I'm glad I did. There is a bit of a leaning curve with this (not a fault of the product IMO), so if you've not done anything like this before, I recommend one roll per wheel. Once you get the technique figured out (about 1/2 of 1 wheel) the rest of the job goes pretty quickly. Having a 3rd hand available to spin the wheel for you would be nice so you don't have to take your hands off the tape at all.

I choose the Chrome mirrored shield. Works great for blocking out sun and glare. Isn't so dark that you have trouble seeing in shaded areas. Works great for transitioning between sun and shade as well. And looks good to boot!
My only regret is not picking this up sooner.

As others suggested, I ordered a size up, and am glad I did. Once the pants broke in (week of daily commuting) they were very comfortable. Temps under about 55 (F), were a bit cold, temps from 55-80 have been perfect for these pants. Haven't had a chance to experience super warm weather yet.
Knee pads seem to have a very small sweet spot where they fit and stay in place (in relation to you and the bike), while not being uncomfortable. This is my first pair of riding pants though, so maybe all knee pads are like this.
