Let me start off by saying that this jacket looks amazing and it feels great. I'm definitely pleased with the armor protection as well. I feel confident that it will hold up well in the event of an accident. Although I clicked that I recommend the jacket, it's very close to the edge so read on and make your own decision.
As for the cons: the prices on the higher level sportbike gear(aStars, Dianese, RS Taichi, etc) is, in my opinion, outpacing most customers' purchasing power. This jacket was given to me as a gift but i would never pay this price knowing what i know now. aStars definitely cut some corners in the design - several important jacket features are similar to those commonly found in jackets of lower quality, not what you expect when you pay for an aStars product. The mesh liner seems to move around too loosely and needs more anchor points within the leather shell of the jacket. Also, the pockets are closed with short Velcro strips that don't cover all the way across the opening of the pocket. So you place items into the loose liner pocket that SHOULD be zippered and hope that none of my stuff falls out. Another issue: the liner contains a pocket that holds the back protector in place but this pocket too is only secured by a few short and poorly placed strips of Velcro. After wearing the jacket a couple of times, the Velcro came loose and the back protector moved out of position.
Yes, I recommend this product.
