I bought this bag for a trip I was taking down Highway 1 (PCH, from San Francisco to San Diego. The initial setup process of the bag was very easy. You find 4 places on the subframe to attach the securing loops to, and adjust them to be the correct length. After mounting the bag on the tail and making sure that the loops were in the right place, I cut off the excess strap (per the instructions) and I was all set. The loops can be left attached to the subframe at all times, and depending on your bike, can also be hidden from view when not in use by tucking them under the seat).
Even when overpacked (I crammed way too much in it), this bag stayed secure on the back of my bike. The strap securers are great, and kept the straps from flinging all over the place in the wind, even at 80+ MPH. Taking the bag off the bike when I stopped somewhere was easy - just clicked the 4 quick-release snaps. Re-adjusting the straps when you're ready to get on the road again kind of gets old, but also gets faster and faster the more times you need to do it.
The biggest gripe I have however, is that it's pretty much impossible to reach something at the bottom of the bag without dumping the entire thing out, especially if you packed it tightly. With that said, I learned to keep the stuff I needed access to on top, and the stuff I didn't on the bottom. It does have a large zipper accessible pocket on the top of the bag for easy access items, but tension must be released from the securing straps before you can access it. A bit annoying but I don't think there is much that could be done design wise to fix this.
Lastly, if you have a tail light cover like I do (Hypermotard), make sure to put a soft cloth over it - I ended up micro-polishing my tail light cover with the rubber mesh on the bottom of the bag, and had to spend quite a bit of time buffing it out. I doubt this would be a problem for most bikes, especially if you don't overpack it like I did ;)
Overall, I'm extremely happy with my purchase - I think I'll get the US-10 to attach to this bag for my next trip.
Yes, I recommend this product.
