Arai Corsair V Aoyama 3 Helmet
Arai Corsair V Aoyama 3 Helmet
Arai Corsair V Aoyama 3 Helmet The Corsair is Arais flagship model. An Arai helmet is not the product of compromise, of a profit point, or a board of directors. An Arai helmet is the product of obsession, an ongoing obsession to design and build the best helmets possible. This year Arai took the Corsair V Replica helmets to a new level. With several new features, youll see why the worlds best wear the Arai Corsair V Helmet. New Features Arais exclusive, adjustable new AirWing is designed to greatly reduce drag, turbulence and buffeting resulting in more comfort and additional top-speed. The new wider eyeport required a new, wider faceshield. Called the Series I faceshield, it is exclusive to the Corsair-V. The new shield fits even more flush against the shell than the previous Corsairs. Newly equipped with Air In Stabilizer, an additional air intake between the front and rear intake in the diffuser and large toggles. The Air-In ports help accelerate air out the back, increasing airflow without increasing the size of the holes in the shell. The biggest difference between the newest generation of Arais Hyper-Ridge feature and its predecessors sticks right out at you Whereas the previous ridge curved in, this one flares out. This results in a larger opening at the helmets bottom, making the helmet easier to get on and off. Both cheek pads and the neck roll can be removed in seconds thanks to the advanced Emergency Release System. Rescue and medical workers can easily remove the newly designed removable neck roll and the cheek pads by just pulling the pad release tabs. This offers extra room within the helmet, making removal of the helmet much easier and minimizing the risk of additional injury. The Corsair-Vs neckroll is now removable and replaceable, and adds an additional exhaust vent through its bottom via shallow channels in the EPS liner, adding yet another ventilation outlet for the removal of interior air. Features Newly designed shell with Hyper-Ridge around the bottom enhances shell strength while providing a larger bottom opening Larger bottom opening promotes ease of putting on and taking off the helmet Peripheral belting across the forehead area of the shell enhances structural integrity while maintaining flexibility, low weight and shell size Larger upper vent tabs make operating the vents easier even with thick winter gloves New Arai SAI shield with Super AdSis shield system New SAI shield is 5mm longer in each side and provides a wider field of view New SAI shield and base plates are exclusive to Corsair V helmets Latest generation of Dry Cool line has a new silver-grey color Rear mounting straps are slightly re-positioned exclusively to the Corsair V Neckroll is removable and has additional exhaust channels to remove interior heat Cheek pads have the exclusive Emergency Release Tab feature Newly designed side exhaust cowls exhaust heat as well as add lateral stability at speed Enhanced air inlets of the new DF-9 diffuser increase airflow efficiency Brow vents now duct air into the temple area and out the side vents for maximum cooling Exclusive AirWing provides unprecedented aerodynamic performance with 5 distinct positions Snell M2010 Certified

I had ridden in 2 consecutive Corsair's over 12 years. I saved money and went with an RF1100 last season only to realize I'd been spoiled by the Corsair's lightness, air flow, and fit. In comparison, the RF 1100 is a heavy head roaster that looks like a bubble. The Aoyama 3 I've just received is dramatic in person. In places color fades from grey to sliver to blue and back again. This adds something extra special to the overall hard to beat black and white scheme. I'm stoked. It's gnarly, fast looking and goes with pretty much any color bike. Especially my black STR. And nothing beats the snug sharp look of a "race fit". Cheers Aoyama, Arai, and ZLA.

I'm 5'8'' 157 lbs and wear a 40 dress jacket. I sent back my medium with Bio Armor back protector for a large with a large Bio Armor back protector. Decision based on fit with protector installed. Medium looked good but was short in arms and tight in the chest It's a bit roomy without the liner but great with it in. The jacket is very comfortable and lightweight. I'm a wimp to the cold and am very happy with the warmth provided. The style splits the difference between racer Joe and dorky touring gear. With the Bio Armor back protector and my slip stream back pack I'm comfortable on my Street Triple R on the highway and backroads. The one knock is the zipper. It's one gauge too small for this type of jacket. Not a deal breaker for me. I really like the versatility this jacket offers especially early fall to winter without having to carry full rain gear. My Gerbings fits with the liner in so I'm thinking no snow, I ride home for Christmas. Revzilla was super accommodating on the exchange.

Usually rely on my huge panniers and trunk on my Bandit but the new Street Trip is so fun. Still need to tote a laptop and rain gear much of the time and this bag is a great solution. The bag is long and narrow compared to some bags. It's comfortable loaded. The waist harness is just long enough for me to get around my jacket. I'm a 30 waist 38 chest. If you're much bigger you may need to get the tailor to extend it but It's worth it if you ask me. Felt good above legal highway speeds. The high viz yellow looks great in person. I'm psyched about this bag. Glad I found it.

My previous helmet was an RX7 Corsair. I have used an Icon Alliance on occasion. The Alliance is for my passenger. I fit small for the RX7, small for the RF1100, and XSmall for the Alliance. The RF1100 fits me best of the three. I'm a long oval type head shape, close but not perfect for a Signet Q small. My key gripes with this helmet vs my much loved RX7 are the looks and noise. The RF1100 gives you the bubble head look when compared to the more expensive race helmets (Corsair, X12). The RF1100 is not at all loud when riding in an absolute head up position. When you tilt forward just a little bit, the vents (when closed) whistle dixie in your ears. I cannot believe it. I found myself limiting my head movements to avoid this whistling. Not good, not safe. My opinion on the RF1100 is that it's value is in its Snell rating. If that's not important to you, spend less on an Icon or... Otherwise, if money is no issue, go Arai or X12. I'd return it if I hadn't ridden in it. When budget allows, this will become my new passenger helmet. I ride a Bandit 1250s and a Ninja ZX9R to give you a reference for my head positioning.
