 Icon Airmada Medicine Man Helmet
Icon Airmada Medicine Man Helmet
Icon Airmada Medicine Man Helmet This is not the man with the magic hands. This is the man with the magic medicine. Quadrupeds stand upright and dance around his campfire while birds and insects circle his bubbling potions. I've purchased three Icon helmets and this is by far the best one I've owned. It's very comfortable and noise level is acceptable, more quiet than my Airframe and Alliance. It has plenty of vents that accommodate a decent amount of airflow but it's nothing to jump up and down about. Removing and replacing the visor is by far the easiest system I've seen on any Icon helmet thus far. The helmet gets little or no buffeting and high speeds. It has a very sleek design as well. I highly recommend this helmet! I crash tested it as well. Will certainly buy another.
On 8/18/2013 I crashed in this helmet and smashed my head right onto the track (see video) and it saved my life. I didn't even know I had hit my head on the ground until I took off the helmet and saw the damage.
Yes, I recommend this product.

First off, this is my first suit so I don't really have much to compare it to so take this with a grain of salt.
The suit looks great, you can tell that from the pictures and I often get asked about it or complimented on how nice it looks. The leather and stitching are of high quality.
I'm a 5'10" Italian guy and the Euro size 50 fits me like a glove; Alpinestars sizing chart is dead on. It's important to remember that if you're using this on the track often you'll want it to be a tight fit, you don't want the suit rolling on your body parts in a crash so it should be a tight fit. If you're more of a road warrior it may be a good idea to go a size up so you're more comfortable in less aggressive racing positions.
This is AStars entry level suit so it does have a done of bells and whistles but what it does have is effective and works. There are plenty of pads and protections points on the suit as well as lots of ventilation (watch the video for more details). You can fit the chest protectors as well as a back protector in the suit. Replaceable knee pucks and the liner is washable.
The suit is quite comfortable considering how tight it fits although I do have a complaint, the suit is a bit uncomfortable in the knee area especially after you've started sweating. If you are going to be wearing this in hot conditions I highly recommend getting the warm weather undersuit AStars offers. It will make the suit much more comfortable and easy to remove once you've sweat in it a lot. If you have ever tried taking off a leather suit once you've been to the track, you'll know what I'm talking about.
The suit does offer decent airflow but I wouldn't say it's anything to get excited about; it was built for protection not airflow. Suit fits perfect with my SMX Plus boots and SP2 Gloves.
Yes, I recommend this product.

These are the best boots I've ever owned and well worth the money simply for their style, protection, and comfort. I've been wearing them over two months now and have almost no complaints about them.
Like most boots they are quite stiff when you get them but after you break them in you'll hardly notice them. I have no problems feeling my shift or break levers. They over plenty of flex for any riding position and riding style. I was actually quite surprised at the amount of airflow these boots offer as well. Even on hot days my feet stay quite cool. These boots first perfectly over my Carver 1 piece. They offer a large amount of protection allowing your ankle to bend in only the directions required for walking or riding (front to back, not laterally) as well as TPU on many parts of the boot.
One of my only complaints is that the rubber on the sole is quite soft and tends to wear off easily. I realize Alpinestars will resole your boots but it's still annoying to me how soft it is.
Yes, I recommend this product.

It's a great entry level gauntlet offered by Alpinestars. I've been using them for two months and though they show signs of wear they have held up great so far. They fit well and they offer quite a bit of protection. The airflow isn't the greatest but it's a very protective glove so I kind of expected that. I would recommend this to anyone doing serious street riding and the occasional track day. If you visit the track often you should go with a more expensive Aplinestars track glove.
Yes, I recommend this product.
