I saw a different version of the Variant on clearance from another vendor and ordered it in a large. Felt great but was a little loose (my head is right at 23 inches). I couldn't get the clearance helmet in a MED so I ordered the Construct from Revzilla. I am really glad I made the change. After wearing it for several rides and around the house, it turns out that the medium was the perfect size for me. As for those who think that the helmet has drag or wind noise, I guess I am used to a different standard. My old full face helmet was a Harley Davidson modular helmet. The Variant is night and day compared to the Harley helmet. The Variant Construct is lighter, has better venting, better vision angles, looks better, and is more aerodynamic than my old helmet. I have ridden with it on my V-rod with no windshield and on my V-Strom with a windshield. The helmet performed very well even with no wind protection. A nice feature of this helmet is that it comes with both a clear and smoke shield. There is a slight trick to changing the shield and now that I have some practice its not that hard. My plan is to ride with the smoke shield during the day and keep a pair of clear riding glasses with me and ride with the visor up and the glasses on at night. The bottom line is that I love the helmet but I didn't love the price. In the end I think it was worth it and I would buy it again. Revzilla was great and continues to be my go to site for riding gear.
