I purchased the SP-X because I wanted a summer glove that flowed lots of air without sacrificing protection (like the SMX Air Carbon does).
The Good: This is one of the best looking gloves I've ever seen. It flows tons of air, which makes it a perfect summer riding glove. It also has great protection despite all the mesh and thin textile. I like how the cuff extends down my wrist and has a nice piece of foam to protect that area. There is reinforced leather and slide plates in impact areas, which made me feel like these would hold up pretty well in a crash.
The Bad: I have lots of different Alpinestars gloves and I'm always a XXL. However, the XXL for the SP-X were pretty small when they arrived. So, I got some XXL, but those were way too big. I decided to keep the XXL and figured the leather would eventually stretch. They stretched a little bit, but after putting about 600 miles of riding on these gloves the thumb (which is all leather) still hasn't stretched very much and it's somewhat painful to ride with them. Strangely, the fingers are almost too long and there's a bunch of space at the fingertips. I'm really disappointed in the fitment of these gloves.
More Bad: The durability also sucks. Almost immediately the white silicon pads on the fingertips ripped off. Also, the mesh areas of the gloves have already started to fray and the threads are starting to come out of the seams. I suspect I may get these things to last a bit longer, but doubt they'll make it through another riding season.
Final Thought: If you want a summer glove, you may want to try something different. I regret my decision to go with these. Now that the new GP-X is out, I think I'm going to try that one. I recommend you do the same.

I purchased this as a summer jacket for hot weather. With both the liners out, the jacket breathes like you aren't wearing anything! My first ride I had both liners out and tried it in 60 degree weather. I ended up freezing, haha! If you're using just the shell, you definitely want it to be 70+ out to be comfortable.
My second ride with the jacket started in the lower 50's. I had both liners in and was comfortable. I took out the thermal liner and just kept the rain liner when it hit 60's and was also comfortable.
The fit is great. I'm 6'5" 235lbs and I got the Large Tall. It fits perfectly. Most jackets I've worn as a tall person are too short for me. This one is perfect. If you're a tall person too, get this jacket.
The jacket is also very stylish and has lots of features. Tons of pockets, adjustable straps to make the arms and waist either tighter or looser, and it just looks great for a textile/mesh jacket.
My only concern is protection. The mesh breathes well, but its super thin. My other jacket is a leather Icon Daytona, so the mesh Cortech felt a little scary at first. There is no way mesh will hold up against the pavement like leather can, so just be aware that you are sacrificing significant protection by going mesh instead of leather or textile.
I'm also not a fan of the armor. It's CE rated, but its much smaller than what's been in other jackets I've worn. It didn't fully cover my elbows and shoulders, so I swapped it with the armor from my leather Icon and felt much better. I'll probably buy some replacement Knox armor down the road.
Overall though, this is a fantastic jacket and I'm very happy. I don't think you can find a better summer jacket out there. Plus if you're looking for a multi-season jacket, this is it. The two liners will allow you to ride comfortably in the hottest or the coldest temperatures.

I've been using Maxima Chain Wax for the past 2 years and this stuff is great! Once it's on the chain, it doesn't drip like normal chain lube does. Keeps my garage floor clean and my chain well lubricated.

These are the first motorcycle boots I've ever purchased, but I am very happy with them. They are super comfortable, offer great protection, and look fantastic! I was also pleased with the amount of airflow. They do run a little on the large size, so you'll likely want to go a size down. I thought this was a little weird since Alpinestars usually runs a bit small on their gear.

I used to have this helmet's predecessor (the RF-1000) for many years, but after a crash last year where it got thrashed up, it was time for something new. The RF-1100 has everything I loved about the RF-1000, but the new features on the RF-1100 take it to the next level.
I did my first ride this weekend with my new RF-1100 this weekend and it has definitely exceeded all my expectations. The first thing I noticed while riding was the improvement in air flow. The RF-1100 has redesigned intakes and additional two exhaust ports, which really made a difference. It was fairly warm out during the day, but my head was super cool with all the vents open.
The second thing I noticed was the increased visibility. The RF-1100 has an additional 5mm of visibility on each side of the visor, which made a HUGE difference. I could see things in my peripheral vision I could never have seen before, like gorgeous scenery or potential hazards. Definitely an improvement to the riding experience from a safety and overall enjoyment aspect.
The third thing I notices was how aerodynamic the helmet is. When riding it cuts through the air so well, and as you turn your head (up/down/left/right) you can feel the helmet correct itself to the ideal position. I think this has to do with the integrated wing/lip thing on the back. It's a pretty cool feature.
On the ride home after dark it got really cold, so I closed all the vents. The helmet was super quiet with all the vents closed (quieter than my old RF-1000), but like any helmet, it's prone to fogging up at stop lights and such. However, the RF-1100's got this cool feature that lets you crack the visor, which greatly reduces the fog effect. I loved it!
Finally, crash test rating. This helmet has the new SNELL rating approval, which the RF-1000 didn't have. When I crashed last year in my RF-1000 I had no idea I hit my head on the pavement until I got up and saw how banged up my helmet was. I had zero head injuries. This thing will help save your head if you go down, for sure!
So, if you've actually read this whole review and you have the cash to get the RF-1100 (it's not the cheapest thing out there), stop looking at other helmets, just get the RF-1100. You won't be disappointed.
Yes, I recommend this product.
