I've only had the helmet for 3 weeks and I haven't crashed, so I left the protection and durability bar blank. Otherwise, what a lid! I've got a big melon, and all of my prior helmets have either rattled a bit or been uncomfortably tight. This one fits comfortably and snugly.
I've been riding with temps in the 40's, get some fogging below 30mph and have to crack the shield. Above 30 I put the shield in 'city' position and open the chin vent. At highway speeds I can close the vent, lock down the visor, and get no fogging and little breeze. As an experiment I opened up the chin and forehead vents on the freeway and froze my skull in short order. Should be more than sufficient airflow for Seattle's mild summers.
Color is a retina-abusing orange that is sure to be noticed! If that's what you're after, you won't find a louder (visually) helmet.
Speaking of volume, this helmet is quieter than any helmet I've ever owned. I don't know if its the quietest on the market, as they claim, but I can't imagine anyone being disappointed in it. I did add an external helmet intercom and it is noticeably noisier with it in place. If you can spare the cabbage, you might be happier with the Schuberth branded intercom that integrates into the neck pad instead of whistling in the wind. After springing for the helmet, though, I couldn't justify the extra dough.
As to price: Yep, it's pricy! To me, it's totally worth it to have a helmet that fits comfortably and has all the features I could possibly want. I used to ride a $1000 bike wearing a $500 dollar helmet (that hurt my head) and my friends made fun of me. I just figure if I'm gonna spend thousands to put my noggin in peril, what's so silly about spending hundreds to protect it? I'd like to think my brain is worth it, I hope you think the same about yours!
Yes, I recommend this product.
