Reevu MSX1 Helmet - Solid Colors The world's first rear-view helmet! Reevu has been the industry leader in rear view technology with their patented mirror system, manufactured from a reflective polycarbonate material rather than glass! The polycarbonate material is almost impossible to break, weighs less than glass and provides additional safety and comfort to the rider. The mirror system essentially bends the light around the shell of the helmet, offering a clear view of what's behind. The Reevu System works just like a car's rear view mirror offering awareness of the road ahead and behind without making a conscious effort as both are simultaneously in your field of view. Features Patented rear-view technology Tri-composite carbon fibreglass, Kevlar and synthetic hi-tenacity advanced fibre shell Fully removable and washable liner Anti-fog face shield Note Helmet ships with clear face shield.

I'll admit it: I love gadgets, and the idea of this helmet was intriguing.
First thing, the fit is perfect for my 58cm oval head. I ordered a medium; the fit is very snug with no pressure points and the check pads are nice and snug.
The visor is distortion free and has a very wide field of view. Visor fitment is adjustable, though I'm not sure why it needs to be: scews securing the hinge mechanism can be loostened to allow fine tuning of the visor closed position (the bottom edge of mine wouldn't seal until I fooled with the hinge adjustments).
The helmet is noisy, but earplugs take care of most of it.
The rear view mirror is great for city and other close-quarters riding (read 'lane splitting'). And like in the other reviews, you'll find it takes a little while to get used to and learn how to effectively utilize the rear view feature. With the amount of "fisheye" distortion present, images in the rear view mirror are all but useless in open highway riding.
The rear view mirror is usefull for about 75% of the riding I do: city , around town and twisties where some of the locals follow you so closely you can't see them in your regular mirrors.
Another downside is that I can't wear my polarized sun glasses with it becase the polycarbonite prism device turns black when I look in the mirror wearing them.
Overall I like this helmet, I think it offers good protection and the rear view mirror is very usefull once you learn how to use it: It's a keeper.

does it work with glasses

are people with prescription glasses able to use this helmet?
Yes, there are channels in the padding along the temples (but this may contribute to the fairly high noise levels in the helmet)

How does the weight and wind noise compare to a Shoei?

I have an x12 and a RF1000. RF1000 being less noisy but a little heavier than the x12. (I wear a Medium). I'm curious about the Reevu but don't want a heavier helmet. I suspect it may be quieter.
I can't really answer the weight question, I didn't notice the weight one way or another.

As far as noise though, my experience has been that this helmet is noisey to very noisy.
