So the first day of nice weather (60 degrees where I am at) I put my brand new Joe Rocket jacket on. Great fit, love the belt straps as my other jacket has none. I was a little worried that it did not come with CE rated padding but I can tell you that they do there job even with the foam. Three blocks from my home someone decided that the yield sign they had was optional and to say the least I was ejected from the bike landing directly on my shoulder. The jacket barely has a mark on it. I did suffer an AC sprain/tear but Im sure it would have been much worse without the jacket. So yes I would recommend this jacket.

I have only had a chance to wear them once while riding and I loved them instantly but we will see once the season starts. I have worn them around doing other stuff and they pretty good. I dont think Ill be doing and long walks in them but they are ok to walk around in for a bit.

Sizing
I am 6'2 170lbs. The measurements i took with the tailor tape was: Chest-41', Waist-33', Hip-37', Arm-28'. I double checked the measurements to ensure right sizing. I do not seem to fit all into one category and was wondering what i should do? I watched the sizing video and am willing to go with longer sleeves and loose chest fitting rather than short sleeves and tight chest. Please respond when ever
I would be more worried the length of the jacket. The first one I recieved was based on measurements from a tailor. The problem is suits dont allow for movement and I got a jacket that fit but I couldnt move well and it was short. Moved up a size and even thought the sleeves are supposed to be longer they fit just fine and it was at the length I needed it to be.

Will these work for a short rider?
I tip toe my zx-10r in sneakers. And I am fine with that but will these shoes take further away from my height since it seems like they don't have much sole.

Im a short rider and I wore work boots before. They seem to have a shorter sole from pics but I reach better in these then the work boots. I will have to wait and see after a full season if they wear down more

Is the insole removable?
I have a need to always wear custom fit orthotics, so it'd be great to know, thanks.

Are they leather or a textile?
at the very bottom it is leather the sides are textile

Is the buckle plastic or aluminum? S&S web site says aluminum, reviews here say plastic.
The strap is leather and plastic the buckle is part plastic (where it is connected to the boot and part aluminum (where the hinge is)
