First off, go a size up. I'm a large in Icon and Scorpion, but always an XL in A*'s .
After a few rides they break in and become very comfortable.
I slid for about 100 ft in these, the leather did not rip anywhere. Only the padding on palm got torn up.

Has a lot of features for what you pay. I really liked the blow up cheek pads, and the drop down sun visor was very useful.
My air vents and drop down visor lever all broke after a few months of use.
I low sided wearing this, still got a concussion and had a sore neck for a month, but I'm still riding so I guess it worked.

Low sided wearing these at 40 mph, they came apart at every seam, knee armor shifted and now I got two giant holes in my knee that I had to get surgery on. Still got rash on both legs and lower back.
Sure they were comfortable and move a lot of air, but what good is that when they don't protect you.

I can't say how these would hold up in a crash, as I have never seen the pavement. However, they are not Labrador proof. Unfortunately I left them on the coffee table and I forgot to feed my dog that day, or maybe she was mad because I gave her a bath that morning.
Regardless I only managed to use them for 4 months and I loved them. They showed no signs of ripping, tearing, or having stitching come undone.

I was looking for something that was more than just a shoe but not full blown racing boot. I stumbled upon these because the price was fairy inexpensive. I've been wearing them for 8 hours a day for the past few weeks and Here's what I think.
PROS:
Stylish, look good with shorts, look best with pants.
I was worried that these would be to small or to big, as different shoes fit differently, 11.5 fit me perfectly.
They are extremely light, as light as tennis shoes.
Good over the ankle protection.
Decent Ventilation, my feet never got sweaty and I'm in Florida
CONS:
Thin flat soles. Coming from just wearing comfortable Nike's this was a noticeable change for me, I can feel a thump with every step that I take.
The laces are so long that even with the Velcro covering them, they are still a potential threat for riders.
