Revzilla comes through again. I ordered these as a birthday present for myself on Tuesday and received them today; super fast delivery. I had a concern regarding my order and contacted support via email the night I ordered these. I received a response immediately the next day and was assured my order was placed and would arrive before the weekend. Thanks again Chris!
These pants are true to size for my measurements. I am 5' 7", 30-31 inseam, and barely a 42 waist. I'm a stocky soon to be in shape guy (have a belly and am overweight but working on it). These pants with the liner were snug but did fit over my Levi 501's (which are shrink to fit waist 44) with thermal underwear underneath. I removed my thermals and they fit great. I removed the liner and they fit great. I am certain after losing another 20lbs these pants will fit me perfectly.
The knee pads can be positioned perfectly for my short stature and haven't had any issues with them shifting on my test ride with them on. They are adjustable via velcro if I needed to position them higher...so these will work for you if you're shorter than I am by an inch.
For the price of these pants in comparison to other overpants I feel I have gotten the best bang for my buck. As with my Rush Tex jacket, the quality of these pants seem very good. They're waterproof and definitely warm. There are plenty of pockets, a few vents for air flow, and a garter at the bottom. There's a zipper in the rear that will match up with my jacket. The liner is connected to the pants via a 360 degree zipper and is easy to take out. The zippers and buttons at the waist are all of good quality. I see no flaws in craftsmanship with these pants. Only time will tell if these hold up well but I'm confident they will.
These are pretty easy to put on with my Alpine CR4 boots. The pants have zippers that zip up far enough where I'm certain they'll be easy to put on with higher more protective boots (I'm saving for Sidi's Adventure boots).
I'm a big fan of First Gear products now and highly recommend these pants to anyone with a tight budget. Heck, I'd buy these even if I were a six figured salary kind of guy.
And again, Revzilla came through for me. There's absolutely no reason for me to look anywhere else to purchase my riding gear...just so long as the prices continue to be competitive. Thanks First Gear and Revzilla...I'm a happy camper.
Yes, I recommend this product.

At under $150.00 this jacket really does give me bang for my buck. Good shoulder, elbow, and forearm protection. With the back compatible with the Klim Viper I will have good back protection as well.
Anthony was not joking when he said this jacket has an American Cut. I am far from a European build and am in the process of getting healthier (losing weight). I ordered the XL and the jacket fits me comfortably welll. Currently there is no room for me to add layers underneath but with another 10lbs lost (currently 250lbs.) this jacket will fit me perfectly.
I commuted home (35+ miles one way) this evening after work with temperatures in the high 40's. Without additional layering (just a long sleeve tshirt on underneath) I did feel a chill BUT I wasn't uncomfortably cold. To add, it felt as though I was in an airconditioned room. With an additional layer, I wouldn't have noticed the cold.
The quality of the jacket seems it will withstand time and wear; only time will allow me to comment on the durability. But this jacket seems well made and just as good a quality as any regular winter jacket that I've invested in. After inspecting the jacket I see no flaws or loose threads. The zippers (external and internal) seem solid and are easy to zip open\closed (no snagging).
I gave I high rating for features for a couple of different reasons. There are good sized hand pockets that zip up well and I think are waterproof (gotta watch the video again). There is a pocket on the interior intended for a cell phone. My Samsung G3 in an Otterbox cover fits in this pocket but the flap won't velcro shut. Had my G3 no protector or a one layered one it would fit perfectly. There is also a pocket that can be accessed near the chest under the first zipper. A good place for my house keys to go into.
As for my Revzilla experience. As with the Alpine Stars boots I purchased from them the video was very helpful in my decision to purchase. I shopped at other sites for better pricing and none could beat Revzilla. In addition, I took advantage of a free shipping promotion. I received my jacket today when I was expecting it tomorrow afternoon. Thanks again Revzilla!
If you're looking for a good quality, protective, and relatively inexpensive jacket I highly recommend Firstgear's Rush Tex. And of course, don't bother purchasing anywhere else...Revzilla is a top notch outfit!
Yes, I recommend this product.

Oops...I posted as a comment instead of a review. Here's my intended review:
Sizing is accurate for US sizes. I'm size 9.5, I purchased 9.5, and these boots fit my wide feet perfectly. I bought these boots for my everyday commute (35mi one way) on a brand new DR-650SE. For the past 2 weeks I rode in my Redwing hiking boots. These Alpine Stars are far more comfortable than any Redwing boot that I've owned. For the pricepoint, especially considering they're Goretex\waterproof, they're far less money than what I'm accustomed to paying for a hiking or work boot.
These do offer more protection than any non steel toe working or hiking boot I've ever owned. I purchased these knowing very well that they wouldn't be as protective as they are a "shorty" boot. But again, they offer more protection than any non steel toe working or hiking boot I've ever owned.
These are a perfect hybrid or crossover of a motorcycle shorty\hiking boot. Reinforced toes, seemingly good fabric for shifter toe, and soles that fit well on my dualpurpose. There is minor ankle support but feels more supportive than any work\hiking boot I own. To boot, pun intended, no adjustments necessary for my shifter.
I put them on as soon as I got them at my office, I rode home in them, made myself some dinner, sat on the couch, and am writing this review as I still have them on. They are very comfortable boots and apparently no break in required. I have felt no discomfort as I expect from breaking in a new pair of hiking boots...perhaps this is just how motorcycle shorty boots are? They are very comfortable which this in itself makes them worth what I paid for.
It was a great purchasing experience was well. I had mistakenly placed the order with the wrong shipping address. I used the online support to request the shipping address be changed. I was contacted via email by customer support confirming that they received my request and the change had been made. Now that's customer service!
I placed my order over this past holiday weekend. I received my boots today. They came to me in 2 business days. Alpine Stars should know that any AS gear that I buy will be through Revzilla. Thanks for getting my self bought Christmas present to me Revzilla.
I recommend buying this boot if you're looking for goretex, cool looking, functional, and a comfortable shorty boot. And of course, recommend buying through Revzilla!
Yes, I recommend this product.
