What size cheekpads do i need?

I just bought a Bell Revolver EVO Rally Helmet XL. Its a bit too snug. I am new to this and know very little of the sizing. I am not sure if i should return the helment, or just get thinner cheek pads. If i do just get thinner cheek pads how does the cheek pad sizing work so i know which ones are thinner?
