Oxford Heaterz Premium Adventure Heated Grips The Oxford Heaterz Premium Adventure heated handlebar grips are made especially for adventure bikes. The grips have ergonomically engineered surface structures to optimize riding performance. Thicker rubber in areas of maximum wear rhombus tread patterns for high levels of grip and feel diamond tread pattern where maximum grip is required. Overall grip length is 5.19 and can be trimmed to a minimum length of 4.80 without damaging the heating elements. What really sets the Oxford Heaterz apart The answer is many tried and tested features such as the silicon cables which provide flexibility in the coldest weathers and the winter grade wiring prevents cracking and short circuits. The bonded grip design has been in use for many years and is well proven. The grip compound and thermo plastic rubber construction is designed to absorb vibration, making them extremely comfortable and durable, often outlasting standard grips. The silicone wires that come from the grip are angled to eliminate water ingress and resulting corrosion/ice damage and have special unique internal supports which are heat shrunk together to prevent damage if the wires are snagged. In addition, five carefully chosen heat settings allow the perfect temperature to be selected in ALL weathers and most importantly, the switch will switch off if the voltage drops to 10.5V to ensure that the battery is not damaged to the point that it cannot be recharged to full capacity. Easier than ever to install due to the new intelligent heat controller eliminating any need to wire the positive to a live ignition feed simply connect the 2 ring connectors to the battery. You'll find everything supplied by Oxford to fit your Heaterz from a wiring loom with ring connectors to the battery with simple plug and play connectors to attach to the switch and grips, smart mounting bracket and switch right down to the glue and cable ties all neatly packaged in one box. Features Fits most 7/8 handlebars Standard length 5.19 Minimum length 4.80 Sealed for life 5 heat settings give the perfect operating temperature with LED lights to indicate the level Up to 122F (50C) Rainproof switch Draws under 4A Miniaturized electronics Simpler wiring Sonically welded 2 year warranty

About four years ago I discovered how convenient heated grips are and for the price point there really isn't any reason not to have them on your bike. I recently installed a set of these on my 04 Goldwing. The install was a little tricky to make it look clean but that is the nature of the Goldwing, I installed these on a VFR 800 a few years ago and it took less than an hour to make it clean and proper. There isn't any real wiring. You simply glue the grips on and hook up the connections while running the wires in a way that looks good. The auto shut off sensor that works off the bikes vibration is a neat upgrade from the previous models although it may be unnecessary if your bike has an extra fuse block coming off the battery. My only complaint is even though I bought the longest set, the adventure model, they were still about 1/2 inch too short for the Goldwing's grip area. I ended up cutting of a piece from the old grips and super gluing it on the grips to take up the extra space. It doesn't look bad but it would be nicer if the grips were longer. Maybe it is just a Goldwing thing as I did not have any issues with the VFR. They do put out some heat and I can feel it through my winter riding gloves. It's nice when it is cold but heated grips really shine in the spring / fall as they allow me to wear my normal / thinner riding gloves while they keep the chill at bay.

For the price they are largely acceptable. They fit to size, maybe a little long in the legs when walking around but they aren't made for strolls in the forrest. I put them on over my jeans while making my 50 minute commute in south eastern Pennsylvania back and forth to school and they work as advertised. They offer another layer of protection, the knee pads are adjustable, and they break the wind keeping me plenty warm in the 40 degree end of fall weather. I've only ridden in them once during a light rain and I stayed dry so I don't have extensive testing in that area but looking at them I don't see where or why they wouldn't work. My only complaint is that the snaps for the waist are a little "weak," they sometimes come undone when twisting to snap the other side. It makes putting them on mildly annoying but I can live with it.

I've only had these gloves a couple of weeks but they seem like a good purchase for the price. They flow air really well so I would not consider using them in colder weather, they are definitely more of a spring, summer, fall glove. As with most leather gloves I've owned they were really stiff, so much so they actually cramped my hand the first few times I used them after about 5 minutes of riding. This was easily fixed by soaking them in almost boiling hot water for a half hour, putting them on for a little bit and working out the tightness. I did this twice. Then I just left them wet and rode with them for a couple of days going back and forth to work. Now they fit like a glove. Pun intended... I'd buy them again.

Fit
Small
True to Size

O.K. I bought two of these. One for me and one for my wife. First they really look nice in our opinion. I love the magnets, it is amazing how something so simple can really clean up a design. Second with the liner installed in 50 degree weather in a t-shirt and all the vents open I'm about as warm as I care to be. There is no doubt that it would be suitable for much cooler riding. The sizing seems true. I'm 5'10' 215lbs and the jacket fits well but I think if I put on anymore weight it will be close. The length of the sleeves is just about right, no complaints. The zippers seem fairly decent and for my shortish commutes in the rain it has kept me comfy and dry. My wife loved the design so much she wanted her own. This is clearly a jacket cut for a man but the small fits her nicely. She is 5'4" a 120lbs and the only complaint is that it is a touch long in the sleeves but she likes it so much she is going to keep it anyway. The material was super stiff out of the box but after just a few rides it loosened up and the more I wear it the better it feels. I ditched the camel back as I won't ever use it and I took the hood off as it seems to bunch under the helmet, maybe as the coat wears in I'll put it back on and see how it feels but in my opinion a hood isn't necessary anyway. $400 is a lot of coin and there may be better deals to be had but I'd buy this jacket again in a heartbeat.

Shoei Qwest Solid Helmet The Shoei Qwest Helmet was built with a focus on minimizing helmet weight, decreasing noise and optimizing fit, comfort and protection to bring a new level of comfort to touring helmets. Featuring a slightly round oval internal shape, the Qwest helmet is manufactured with 4 individual shell sizes to keep the helmet as low-profile as possible. The smaller the helmet shell, the lighter the helmet weight. The Shoei Qwest Helmet also uses the Shoei's CW-1 visor technology with the Q.R.S.A system. This system guarantees a tight seal at the face shield by pulling the shield back to contact the opening seal evenly. The Qwest also touts an extra-wide viewport for additional peripheral vision so you can more easily take in the world around you. Snell M2010 and DOT ratings means the Qwest is no compromise when it comes to safety. I've had a few different helmets but I always go back to Shoei. For me nothing fits better, nothing is more comfortable. I like the visor lock and the ability to just barely crack it open as I live near the ocean and it is always humid in the morning and fogging no matter what helmet is always an issue. I can't really tell if this is a quiet helmet or noisy as I'll be honest they all seem the same to me. If I want less noise I wear earplugs. Anyway it is all about fit and comfort for me and the shoei qwest easily pulls through.

I like them for the price. The black ones like most any other boot when I'm wearing jeans and they are sturdy. I wasn't a fan of the lacing system under the tongue but I've grown accustomed to it. They have been water proof for my short trips in the rain. Just after a few weeks they've broke in nicely. I marked them down for airflow but you can't have a waterproof mesh boot, everything is a compromise. For the mild temperatures that I have to ride in (no cooler than 45 degrees) they've been toasty warm.
