Had the unfortunate opportunity to put these to the test only 2 days after wearing them. I got hit from behind and dropped my bike on my foot. Knees were bruised but my ankles and toes were just fine.
Doesn't have a whole lot of features, but it does flow air really well. I've ridden in almost 100F weather and I get noticeable flow through my feet, although you have to wear slightly shorter jeans or tuck them in to get some of the benefits.
Very low profile. You can hardly tell they're riding boots until you take a good long look at them.
They're very comfortable to walk in after a short break in period, but don't seem to lose much of their stiff ankle protection in the process.
Though I would've appreciated some toe sliders for days when I'm feeling a bit sportier, they're perfect dry-weather commuter boots.

My main complaint is that the instructions included with the kit were for a ZX6R which has a slightly different installation process due to having a different storage box from the Z1000. ZX6R installation consisted of removing the storage box from above and installing the kit from there. The Z1000's box is removed from below, so you have to remove the bottom fairing to install.
The kit itself doesn't look bad. Would've preferred a black color to the brushed aluminum finish it has. Feels pretty durable. The back plate to cover up some of the OEM fender's mounting holes is optional but fits the bike's lines pretty well. The edges of the back plate don't screw in, so they do hang a bit from the bike which leaves some exposed sharp edges unless you adhere or screw them to the fairing.
Some optional drilling is recommended to pass signal wires through. The generic turn signals that are included with it have two filaments, so I ended up using them on the front to have some new running lights. Unfortunately the plastic stem of one of the signals was cracked so I had to cement it together to be able to install it securely.
The license plate light comes with some mounting hardware, though it's not used on the Z1000 since it slips right in and is held in place by the storage box. The light itself is a bulb and feels highly exposed, and leaves some desire for a more durable LED light instead.
The package overall felt slightly overpriced, but does what it advertises.

Contrary to what the images show, the black sliders are black on black, not black on silver. Had to take them to a shop because I couldn't torque out the bolts holding up the engine that the sliders mount to. Didn't come with instructions although they weren't necessary. Hardly noticeable when installed and something that everyone should have on their bike. Hopefully I won't ever have to figure out how well they work.
Make sure to use thread lock.

The bags' holding capacity are a bit on the small side compared to the other ones in the Nelson-Rigg Sport line, but are still adequate to keep a few changes of clothes for a single person. The bags feel durable, strap down easily, and have a nice simplistic finish to them. They're wide enough to allow a dufflebag to be placed on top of them securely. Panels on the back side and the Nelson-Rigg logo are reflective to add some safety at night time. Only complaint is that the flaps are a bit stiff at the end, so the velcro doesn't always hold them closed, although the zippers to a well enough job of keeping dirt out.

I bought these after having commuted in full race boots for a while since they weren't ideal for either the 35 degree winter or 110 degree summer. Although these are good for the purpose that they intend to serve, which would be short city rides, but the boots leave a lot to be desired.
It's a good looking boot, and extremely comfortable. I've had problems finding well fitting shoes and boots my entire life but was pleasantly surprised to find out how wide it is at both the toes and instep. They feel pretty durable; rigid enough to feel like it offers protection while still being comfortable enough to walk around in which you will probably be doing if you're interested in short boots. They're thick and even work to dampen some vibrations from your foot pegs. The back of the boot is cutout to allow your achilles tendon to flex when pointing your toes down to shift, although pointing them up is still tough. The soles grip very well to any surface.
They fit almost an entire US size and 2-3 Euro sizes too large. Although it has a ratchet buckle for adjustability, it really only works to loosen the lip of the boot since tightening it causes it to fold inwards and put uncomfortable pressure on your feet. The buckle itself is also extremely hard to open. Getting in and out of the boot is easy enough. Although it feels like it would offer great crush protection, your ankles feel extremely exposed. I wouldn't want to trip over and twist my ankle in these, much less experience a crash in them.
The vents on the outer side of the boot don't seem to do anything. There's no intake to offer air flow, so the only purpose they serve is as an exhaust, though it's a stretch to label them as such. Even at speed I could feel warm moist air pooling around my feet. The only air flow you get is what comes in from the top of the boot onto your shin and ankles. If you want a vented boot but don't like the white color scheme, you could buy the non-vented SMX2 and not miss out on any features.
Unfortunately these boots just aren't for me, but they could work for individuals not conscious about protection that don't want to wear sneakers on their ride.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Good protection, good grip, and good feel. The inside isn't lined so it can get uncomfortable and it will stain your hands even after having used them for thousands of miles. Don't feel as bulky while being worn as photos would imply. The mesh on the palm flows air well but the perforations between the fingers don't seem to have much use. Still a great buy for the price.

Wore these throughout an entire California year. Pretty comfortable while riding, perforations flow air nicely, and it offers great protection. Has both a back zipper and a near-360 degree one to attach to a jacket. Has some pockets which are a bit hard to access given how tight the pants fit since they fit a size too small. Doesn't come with sliders which is a bummer, and the back of the knees feel stiff even after having broken them in for a while.

Had the unfortunate experience of having to go down wearing an RF-1100, but thanks to it I got to keep my face. Came back to buy another. Not a lot of fancy bells and whistles, just a solid and effective full face helmet. Very comfortable, aerodynamic, and well-vented in both cruiser and relaxed sport riding positions. Visor crack position is a godsend in plus 100 degree city riding. Only gripe is that the cheek pad lining can get a bit itchy in hot weather. Otherwise a perfect "do-it-all" helmet.

Good for a cruiser?

The RF-1100 looks like a nice step up from the Qwest, though I'm curious if it would work well riding a cruiser like a Yamaha V-Star when you're in a fully upright position.
From personal experience it works just fine with a cruiser (no windscreen), however the Qwest offers better ventilation for upright riding.
