I bought this so that I could carry my helmet around with me when I need to go places like the Mall or the grocery store. You cant stuff a whole lot into it but you should be able to get an extra set of clothes , weather gear, and snacks with no problem when using the pack to carry your helmet too.

I wear this under a winter glove for that little bit of extra warmth when riding in 35-48 degrees weather in the Northern VA / DC area and while it helps a very small amount your better off buying a natural fiber glove that can hold more warmth. I will say that it is great as a under glove for the heated gloves though so that the heated gloves don't burn your skin( when riding in 30 or below temps you have to use a higher heat setting to keep your whole hand warm and not just the wire areas so this helps prevent those pressure areas from burning ).
No, I do not recommend this product.

I'd like a liner to wear under a mesh glove to block the effect of cold wind against my hand. Are these made of wind blocking material?
