AGV GP-Tech Comic Limited Edition Helmet For Valentino Rossi, Misano is his home Grand Prix. To celebrate, the coat of arms of his hometown -Tavullia was added to this Limited Edition graphic along with captions from his two bulldogs. The helmet also features comic book-style representations of Valentino's bad thoughts and frustrations due to the difficulties of last season. GP-Tech, the top of the AGV helmet line, was conceived, designed, and developed with the one precise objective of being the benchmark for helmets primarily destined to racing use. Made on the basis of the best of AGV racing experience, the GP-Tech combines safety, ventilation, and perfect comfort with an extremely innovative and aerodynamic design. GP-Techs design is the most innovative in the market today, and its assertively modern lines clearly distinguish it from its competitors. Aesthetics is not merely an end in itself, however the slender and streamlined chin guard, the lines at the sides, the top air vents and the back tail all make the helmet extremely aerodynamic, ensure excellent ventilation, and guarantee perfect safety performance in case of impact. Absolutely love this helmet. I bought it during a winter sale, on a whim - I am typically a Shoei guy through and through.
I found sizing to run a little large - in Shoei or Arai, I'm typically a Large, but on the GP-Tech, had to go to a medium to get the fit right. Fit was a little snug, but broke in nicely within a few weeks.
Build quality is MOSTLY superb - the shell and interior are gorgeous - it's like the Ferrari of helmets. Really like the interior liner - it wicks nicely and feels really protective. The helmet itself is VERY light. Lighter by far than the RF-1100, RF-700, and Bell Vortex that I also own. Visor has a cool ratcheting system, and pinlocks that work fantastically! The GP-Tech also comes with a great padded bag you can tote it around in.
I say the build quality is MOSTLY good because the ratcheting visor mechanism is finicky and weak. Mine broke when changing visors for the 3rd time - after owning the helmet for 2 days. AGV customer service was very responsive and sent me a free set of replacement hinges. And some stickers and extra tear-offs.
Helmet is a little noisy at speed, but nothing major - I'm comparing it to other race-style helmets. Seems noisier than an Arai.
I've had the GP Tech for 6 months now, and have ridden in it all 6 of those months. It's held up nicely - a few rock chips here and there, but that's to be expected. i get comments on it all the time, from people that like the color, and graphics. Plus it has dogs on the back! Everyone likes the dogs.
Yes, I recommend this product.
