I am running this on an ST1100. I have 800 miles on the tire as i write this. So far this has been an improvement over the G547 that was on the front. My commute is over a hundred miles a day, containing sand and loose gravel in random areas that change daily. An open grate bridge is also part of my daily journey. The 023gt is more planted and wanders far less than the old tire. Though I have given it 4 stars, longevity may alter my review one way or the other. So far I am very pleased.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Nolan N104 Helmet - Solid Colors Nolan N104 Helmets represent an evolutionary step for Nolan as they replace the much touted N103 Helmet. When compared the older N103, the Nolan N104 Helmet offers a helmet which is much lighter (7oz), features a lower profile through the use of multiple shell sizes, better aerodynamics, as well as a much larger viewport for increased visibility. The (patented) chin guard rotation movement with elliptical trajectory makes it possible to keep the total size of the helmet's front section to a minimum, when the chin guard is open. The sail effect is consequently highly reduced and riding comfort is still guaranteed, even when the chin guard is lifted. The new ultrawide eyeport is the largest of any Nolan helmet, both vertically and laterally for maximum field of view. The AIRBOOSTER ventilation system is equipped with an air intake in the chin bar, another intake in the brow and two rear extractors at the rear. The inner comfort lining includes removable cheekpads, inner liner, neckroll and chin curtain and is easily removable and washable as well as antifungal and antibacterial. New, redesigned comfort liner also accommodates eyeglasses much more easily than before. All Nolan N104 helmets are also N-COM B4 ready ( N-COM B4 is designed expressly for the N104 and is sold separately). Shell Features Injected polycarbonate GE Lexan shell 7oz lighter than the Nolan N103 Two Shell engineering allows Nolan N104 to offer sizes from 2XS to 3XL (2XS-LG and XL-3XL) Dimensionally correct sizing allows ample cubic volume in chin/nose area Faceshield Features Face shields are now sized to fit the two different shell sizes (2XS-LG and XL-3XL) Ultra wide eye port opening is the largest on any Nolan helmet for superior visibility Shield is changed by a simple push button mechanism Pinlock shield included with each helmet VPS (Vision Protection System) is new slider bar to lower, push button release for instant retraction VPS lens is scratch and fog resistant Chin Bar Features Centromatic chin guard opening mechanism requires dual action, simultaneous action to prevent accidental opening Dual action opening mechanism is positioned in the centre of the chin guard and allows for easy, one-handed opening Ventilation N104 has new AIRBOOSTER ventilation system, ensures optimal ventilation where is is most required Air intake in the chin guard draws air in and onto the inside of the faceshield 3 position top vent (closed, crown vent, crown/brow vent) 2 venturi exhaust ports at rear of helmet New plastic vent tube channels in EPS disperse cool air throughout the helmet interior Inner Liner Features removable cheek pads, inner liner, neck roll and wind protector The inner padding of the new N104 is easily removable and washable and antibacterial The shape of the inner comfort padding facilitates eyeglass wearing Reflective insert at the centre of the roll neck further improves the rider's visibility at night Neck roll can be removed easily, for more comfort in the warmer months Other Features N-Com Communication System compatible (sold separately) Features new Microlock2 quick-release retention system Microlock2 consists of a plastic ergonomic opening lever, and of a second aluminium toothed and holding lever Microlock2 minimizes the possibility of unintentional opening while still making it ergonomic and easy to use Meets or exceeds D.O.T. standards

While there are a few things I would change or add, this is so far, my favorite touring helmet.
I typically wear 3x in helmets, so to begin with my choices are limited. Even so, the features that really sold me on this are:
•Wide viewing port: This is by far, the most open feeling full face helmet I've ever worn (with the chin bar down).
• Modular: I like being able to pull over and talk without having to take the helmet off. Naturally the modular design isn't particular to this helmet, though I appreciate that is has been certified with the chin bar in both positions.
• Drop down sun visor: I like not having to cram in a pair of sunglasses as well. While some people have complained about there being a gap at the bottom, I don't find it intrusive. In fact, if it were to come down lower, I could see it not fitting all people so uniformly
• Pinlock: With the main visor being so wide, it can fog easily from breath, so the pinlock is an excellent feature.
• Removable liner: While this is a common feature these days, it's still something I appreciate.
I don't have an major criticisms to offer. The helmet is BIG. Even my 3x melon aside, it's big. Sadly it no longer fits in my top box, so it goes in my side bags (ST).
As far as things I would change,
• Composite shell: I'd love to see this with a composite shell. While I believe in the capability of polycarbonate, the strength of resin impregnated weaves is something I look for. If this exact helmet had been offered in a composite shell at the sacrifice of not being modular, I would have bought a non modular but composite version of this.
• Sound baffle: While the helmet is pretty quiet, I'd be interested in seeing what could be done with built in sound baffling.
• Neck seal: For those of us who ride in colder weather, some fashion of velcro neck seal would be nice, just to aid in sealing.
This is my first Nolan helmet (having bought AGV almost exclusively previous to this) and have to say I've been very pleased thus far. I'll be excited to what a 105 might offer.
