AGV AX-8 DS EVO Helmet Brand new for fall 2011, the AGV AX-8 DS EVO Helmet takes one of the most high-end and lightweight dualsport helmets on the market (AX-8 DS) and makes some significant upgrades. The design and the line inevitably recall the AX-8 Model from which it is derived, but additional technical features like the visor and the specific visor mechanism, the chin air vent that can be opened, and the open-able supplementary ventilation on the top guarantee all the performance and comfort of a road model. New internal padding with increased thickness for improved comfort and greater stability in professional use. New shape of the outer shell in the chin area which, combined with a wider and softer base edge compared to the previous model, reduces interference with any back protector used and decreases risks of impact traumas, thanks to its shock-absorber function. Features SSL (Super Super Light) carbon, Kevlar and fiberglass shell construction IVS (Integrated Ventilation System) funnels air though channels in the outer shell New flat dual face shield in non-scratch, antifog polycarbonate Dry-Lex internal padding with sanitized treatment Removable and washable cheekpads and internal lining Outer aluminum peak screws 3 shell sizes DOT and ECE 22.05 Certified

This helmet is currently the lightest dual-sport helmet you can get and has the best visibility thanks to a very large visor. The helmet flows an average amount of air through the top vents and a good amount through the chin vent. The cheek pads are comfortable and did not soften up too much.
The downsides are that for what this helmet is, its very expensive. There is currently only a dark smoke you can get, which is sub-par at best. The helmet is a bit loud but not unbearable. My first helmet came with stripped peak screws and had to be shipped back for replacement(kudos to excellent revzilla customer service).
Yes, I recommend this product.

For what it is, it works okay. Needs reflective option and better day time protection from sun

I have the dark smoke shield and its been alight. The tint needs to be darker. Like a nice pair of sun glasses, I don't think you should be able to see the eyes behind them and you shouldn't still be blinded by the sun in the afternoon. AGV needs to make a reflective shield(one that works better) for this helmet. Especially with the growing dual-sport market. For point of reference the Icon Variant reflective shield ridden in the same situations is far superior.
Yes, I recommend this product.
