The Held Warm N Dry Glove is the choice for cold and wet weather riding. With Superfabric, reinforced knuckles, and high quality leather these comfortable gloves do not compromise protection! The Warm N Dry Gloves also work great with heated grips! The palm is thin enough to allow good feel for the controls and allow the grip heaters to warm your hands, while the lightly insulated back helps to hold in the heat and protect your hands from cold rain and windchill. I ride every day, so an all-season glove is a must. The Held Wam-N-Dry is pretty warm. I'm fairly cold blooded -- I turn on my hand warmers at 60F -- and they do keep me warm. I would not recommend them for extreme (<40F) temperatures. For me, they are comfortable up to 85-90F, and damp above that due to hand sweat. There is no ventilation.
The grip and feel is very good, and the fit is true to the size chart. However, the thumb is huge on me - I could easily fit another finger in there. They can absolutely be worn inside or outside of a jacket. When its warm, I open up my jacket to flow air and in they go. Rain or mist - close the jacket and open the gauntlet.
As for protection, I have done the test. I high sided, dropped, and low sided my bike on a particularly damp and misty day in the San Bernardino National Forest. I always land on my hands. I tested the low side, palm and knuckle protect. I'm typing this with both hands, so the protection is extraordinary. I've already made my 200$ back by not having to pay for the hospital bills.
As a note, these gloves do have the X-tra fit technology to prevent the Gore-Tex from pulling out.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Enough protection for adv\touring?

I'm looking for a good adventure riding glove, 50/50 on road, off road that's light enough to allow great tactile feel of the controls. I find some are a little bulky. This glove seems to offer the temperature flexibility, just wondering if there's enough protection there, or would you suggest something else better suited to off road?
I went off my bike with these gloves a few time off road. They have excellent knuckle, palm and low side protection. The feel is very good as well - I came from a pure off road glove, so it is not as good as that, but the best you are going to get with a liner.
