Shinko 804/805 Big Block Adventure Touring Tires Born from their already popular line of popular dual sport tires, Shinko has created the 804 and 805 geared specifically for the larger adventure touring bikes. The classic big block pattern not only looks aggressive, but will also handle nearly anything you can throw at it, while giving you a stable and comfortable ride on the pavement. So if you were looking for a chunky, beefy and affordable enduro style DOT tire to slap on your adventure bike, the 804 and 805 are a winning combo. Features: Classic big block tread pattern 40 on-road and 60 off-road DOT approved

I'm always reluctant to buy 2'nd tier tires, for obvious reasons. But, the 804/805's were getting great reviews on advrider.com, so I took the plunge. Be careful about the 100/90-19 front as it is not tubeless, as advertised on Shinko's site. It is a tube type (TT). Other than that, the riding characteristics are excellent for a big block tire. There is a slight hum at speed, but it's almost impossible to hear over normal exhaust volumes. More than anything, they bring a huge smile to your face when you look at how aggressive they make your bike look. I giggle a little every time I walk the bike around and they go chunk, chunk, chunk. ;)

I'm not looking forward to testing it's crash-worthiness, but the Forcefield feels very substantial, the construction is very high quality, and it breathes pretty well with my back vent open. The only small dings I give it is for flexibility and weight. So, the Forcefield isn't initially as flexible as the softer 3D0 armor, but it does bend easily enough that you don't notice it when its on. What you really do notice is the weight increase. My jacket takes the small pad, and it still feels like I have a big old slab of rubber on my back...which, it kinda actually is :) Its hard for me to imagine how you could make something uber lightweight and safe, so I don't let it get to me, knowing that with my new Level 2 armor, I now have less to worry about when riding! Overall, I'm very happy with the product and would recommend it to anyone.
