I commute to work on my Softail year round. Most days I leave for work before the sun rises and head home around noon. In the past this meant I either carried two shields with me at all times, or suffered from having a dark smoke shield when the conditions were far too dark to do so safely.
I've been waiting for a long time for the transitions face shields to come along. I've been wearing transitions lenses in my glasses for almost a decade now! The price of the shield felt a little steep, but the conveniance of not having to carry two shields, and the novelty of having this one, helped me get over the sticker shock. Like transition lenses in glasses, it's pretty common for the user not to even notice the tinting change when it happens. The reason being that the shield tints at a rate slow enough for our eyes to adjust, while fast enough that we aren't "shocked" by the sudden brightness of the sun. There are times where I would like the tint to be slightly darker, however I've never been in a situation where sunlight was overbearing #except headed directly into a sunset, but nothing would help then#.
Overall I'm extremely happy with my purchase and I highly recommend this product to anyone who carries/needs multiple shields for commutes like my own. I would however like to see Bell drop the price of this to around $80 though. It would make digging in to your pockets a lot easier if it were priced around the cost of two regular shields.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I picked up a matte black RS-1 and a transitions face shield. Went on a 2 hour long ride today. It was 42 degree's with small pockets of (misting# rain.
Overall I'm extremely pleased with the helmet. It immediately felt comfortable, the ventilation worked great, and the feild of vision was better than that of my old Scorpion exo400.
The fit on this thing is tremendous. The generous cutaways for the ear pockets are the largest I've ever felt in a helmet. There was ample space for air cirrculation and it felt far less cramped padding wise) than the Scorpion and Arai helmets I've worn in the past.
It is difficult, but not impossible, to get my large framed glasses on eith these cheekpads. I'm guessing they will break in like every other helmet I've owned, but I wish Bell would follow Shark's lead and pre-cut grooves for eye glasses.
The only issue I did find with this helmet was that the shield does not seal across the entire top end. When riding slow through stop and go traffic while it was raining I did notice dops of rain getting on to the back of the shield and felt moisture on my forehead! This isn't a deal breaker for me because it seemed to only be an issue when stationairy. But be warned, you may get wet if you tour through all weather like I do.
I did notice some buffeting when going over 70mph on the highway. I believe it was mostly due to the windshield I put on during poor weather though. It wasn't unmanageable however.
Yes, I recommend this product.
