Shoei Neotec Modular Helmet Evolving on previous designs, Shoei has revamped its modular helmet style with a streamlined and attractively sculpted shape that conveys the feel of freely moving through the outdoors in the Shoei Neotec Modular Helmet. Overall shell size is kept compact by incorporating the internal sun visors open/close mechanism inside all ventilation mechanisms are shaped and positioned in such a way as to reduce any possible drag. A redesigned aerodynamic spoiler also helps to cut lift, reducing neck strain on long, cross country rides. In the Shoei Neotec all these features combine to create a premium helmet that excels in appearance, protection, comfort and performance. The Shoei Neotec Helmets chin bar is connected to the same axis point and mechanism as its shield, minimizing extra parts. This also enables simultaneous closing of the shield with the chin bar, which is then held in place with an easy-open lock release button. The shield lock system offers secure closure or the ability to keep the shield slightly open to allow for increased airflow. With the Shoei Neotec Helmet, Shoei now includes a built-in sun shield, the QSV-1. The visor tucks neatly away beneath a non-intrusive shell built into the helmets liner, and can be lowered with the easy control of a sliding button. Shoei Neotec Helmet Features Face Shield Features Easily operable lever mechanism Anti-fog, anti-scratch, 99 UV blocking New Pinlock-ready CNS-1 faceshield Wider and taller than the CX-1V that it replaces Includes Pinlock insert 3D injection molding process ensures a distortion-free view Improved Ventilation and Aerodynamics Newly designed vortex generators pull air through helmet 276 more airflow than Multitec Added inlets and outlets Vents are flush against helmet to maintain aerodynamics 5-Ply Shock-Absorbing Fiber Shell 3 shell sizes AIM Multi-Composite construction Lightweight yet strong Shell-integrated spoiler reduces lift and drag during high-speed riding Dual EPS Liner Multi-density EPS for optimal protection Two vents funnel fresh air through the EPS liner Dual liner channels route and disperse air evenly throughout the helmet EPS liner in chin bar All new interior Fully removable 3D interior liner Top center pad is removable and washable Improved cheekpad design allows better fit with eyeglasses Included chin curtain can be inserted into the chin bar to reduce turbulence and noise All Neotec Helmets sold in the US have a double D-ring closure Be sure to check out our Shoei Neotec Review above, in which we detail and break down all of the features and functionality of the brand new Shoei Neotec Helmet. Getting a new helmet can be a challenge. There's lots of options (Brand, Cost, Weight, Full, 3/4, or Skull cap). For City, Tour, or Sport riding I prefer the Full face. But there can be some downsides with the Full face style.
This is where the Shoei Neotec Modular Helmet becomes one of my Top choices. When riding around town in Stop and Go traffic with a full face helmet, it can get Hot & Stuffy. The Neotec allows me to quickly open the face to get some fresh air and remain comfortable. While riding open roads or Hwy's the increased air flow of the Neotec vents are very effective. The Neotec keeps me very comfortable, even at temps of 90+ degrees.
I find the Neotec is very comfortable and also much quieter than some of my previous solid full face helmets. With the many improvements and new features I consider the Neotec as a premium helmet, without having to pay the premium price.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Icon 1000 El Bajo Boots El Bajo - literally translated it means The Short One. Short perhaps in overall height, but never in performance or steez. Built on the same Goodyear welt bottom unit as its five-buckle Elsinore brother, El Bajo provides all the OG moto-presence but in a reduced two-buckle silhouette. Metal post fasteners, heavy top-grain leather chassis, and reinforced toe box and heel make for a serious piece of riding footwear. The Icon One Thousand El Bajo - always up to the challenge. Having a some what big foot (14+), not all boots give you the size you need. The Icon 1000 El Bajo Boots gives me a very good fit with a bit extra. You can wear a thick soft sock and not feel cramped. The design of the entire boot offers a good style, but the best feature is the side zipper which allows for a quick pull on and take off feature. Once you have the straps adjusted all I use is the zipper. No hassle of mess'in with laces and getting them to tight. Also, there is room for the ankle to move around as the feet move back and forth to shift or brake so there's no pinching or tight uncomfortable tightness. They fit very well, yet provide space for a comfortable feeling for those 400-500 mile days.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Generally ICON boots have run 1/2 size small; is that the same for this boot?

In my case I've found that the size 14 boot is an "ample 14". They allow me to wear a heavy sock and still have room in the toe, heel, and width. So for the larger foot I'd say the sizeing is accurate.

What are the weight of these boots?

Thre Icon 1000 El Bajo Boots weigh 5.3 pounds. I'm what you would call a Big guy and 5 lbs are an after thought. For someone under 175 lbs they may feel the weight a bit, but they are well worth every once when you on your bike. They are comfortable, sturdy, and can take any hit or scuffs you can throw at them.
