I have better value from the wicking top I got for free from a charity event last year. It's paper thin, so you feel every ridge and edge from your jacket and protector. It fits snug but the claims of it being a compression garment are utter rubbish. I had to wash it twice to get rid of the amazing chemical stink it had upon unboxing, and to add insult to injury they couldn't even get the logo printed on it straight. The only thing it really got right was wicking sweat during my ride, but I have $10 exercise shirts which already do that. Last bloody time I order something from anyone but Revzilla. My mistake.
No, I do not recommend this product.

It's a difficult decision whether or not to endorse the Airwave as a warm/hot weather jacket. The style, close fit and excellent airflow will beat just about anything else I've encountered, particularly at this pricepoint. But, it's equally difficult to say this is a quality piece of gear. You get what you pay for. According to the insert in the jacket the shell is listed as straight poly, not even cordura, and the mesh is base quality. Comforable? Very. Protective? No. Better hope you land on your face in a get-off as your back protector (you are using one, right?) May not be there depending on how far you slide. As a final insult, the zipper is poor quality and broke on the first ride. I didn't expect the moon and stars at this price, but from a company as esteemed as Rev'It I expected more than they're apparently willing to offer.
TL;DR - Buy it for looks and airflow, not protection and quality

Thankfully I haven't tested this yet, but the density and construction are encouraging in the event of an inadvertent get-off. Hard enough to remind you you've got armor on, soft enough to not be uncomfortable during touring.
The only downsides are:
1) the aforementioned density means zero airflow. Prepare to get toasty if you've a close-fitting jacket, vents or not.
2) it's thick enough that some creativity may be necessary to get it into the pocket. Fit fine into a Teknic (RIP) Sprint coat, but ended up wrecking the pocket on a Teknic Mercury jacket.

Warm on the cool days, even with the liner out. Cool up to the mid 70's (unless you're in stop-and-go for extended periods). Waterproof pockets everywhere. Waterproof. Solid Knox armor. Reflective striping which blends into the overall style, so isn't obtrusive. Fits well even for a little guy, and with the Bell RS1 in carbon and the dark silver iridium shield, looks sick.
