This is exactly what it says. It fits nice and snug and lets my helmet slide on nicely. The neck fits into the top of my jacket and I do not get any air leakage even with the cord for my earbuds coming out from under the Balaclava and over the top of my coat. Even in a full tuck on a CBR 1000 the neck does not pull out of my coat. I rated it Excellent in airflow because it is designed to block all of the wind and it DOES.
The only issue I have had, is with my glasses fogging up the first time I put on my helmet. A slight adjustment to have the front of the Balaclava set just below my nose solved the problem.
I have used this Balaclava about ten times in temps down to 34 degrees and could not be happier with it.
Yes, I recommend this product.

What size should I get?
I comfortably wear an XL Scorpion EXO-700 Predator helmet. Its not tight, but not too loose either. Would a large/xl balaclava be too thick or will a small be too tight/unfitted against my head?

I wear a M EXO-1000 and I went with a small. It is very snug. You should be fine with a large.
