Just got my R3 today. My expectation was for the product to have been packaged well, be well constructed from high quality materials. It must be good looking but not over-the-top. I expected the product to have more room than the Kube, to be practical and can stand-alone or in tandem with the Kube and/or R25. I do not expect a fanny pack. I would not expect anything less since the R3 is at the higher spectrum in the price-point catagory.
I was not let down. Packaging was as good as it could be. The product met all my expectations. What I didn't expect but was pleasantly surprised was the actual appearance and size of the R3. Pictures only do it some justice. The two white vertical straps gave a distinct visual que. In my opinion, it really does look so much better "in person."
I now have 3 Kirega packs to my collection. Each one has its own purpose and works well by themselves. In any combination, however, my 3 packs becomes a reliable and practical travel system. Did I mention they look awesome!?
Those of you wanting to carry the bare essentials and wear jeans to ride, the Kube is good on a belt for that extra room. But if you wear leathers or textile riding pants, the R3 is best to stash your phone, wallet, paperwork, charger, shades and still have room for a camera!
Kriega's are more expensive, no doubt, but the 10-year warranty, durability and practicality they offer is well worth the price. I highly recommend this product.

I recommend this item because it does what it says. I say the R3 may be better because it does more.
Build quality of the Kube is very good. Looks cool on my R25 and comes in handy for things you need handy like your phone or wallet or keys when jacket pocket zippers get too clumsy to get into with gloves on.
Much of the reviews I read about the Kube mentioned it being a bit too small. This is true. My Galaxy S3 is about as long but wider and thicker (with an extended battery) than an iPhone and it fit snugly along with my wallet. I believe switching over to a money clip with 1 or 2 credit cards should be much better.
As far as the comparison to the R3, I just ordered one and I feel this waist pack will do a better job at securing my wallet, phone, charger, paperwork, a GoPro camera, and a can of dip... in a waterproof environment to boot!
I still like my small Kube though. It is versatile, I can loop it on my belt while not riding or attach it to my R3 or R25 when I do ride or travel. It's all good!

I have owned backpacks bought from warehouse stores and department stores and even had one from a prominent Italian leathers manufacturer. The latter was the best one of those backpacks ...but then I saw the Kriega brand, specifically the R25 and R30. I read the reviews and checked out YouTube video reviews for both of these for about a month before I pulled the trigger on the R25.
I finally got to try it on my bike last week when the temp got up to the 50's (NJ). First the looks; the R25 design is simple, not too flashy but serious looking. The build quality is just sick; durable materials, sturdy stitching and the QuadLoc, fantastic invention! I loaded 6" work boots, a sweater, bike chain/padlock, lunch, 3 water bottles and my 15" laptop for a 50min commute to work. I didn't feel any strain on my shoulders because my chest and hips bore most of the load. I could sit upright or get into a tuck without noticing the weight or the pack shifting on my back. It is very secure. Backpacks with the waist belt tend to shift/move on your back as you ride. The "secure" fit you had while standing changes as you get into a tuck position or move side-to-side on the seat.
All the backpacks I have owned were ok to good. The Kreiga brand is the best for me so far because it is specific to/for bikers. I love the design, build quality and overall feel of the R25. I have no doubt it will perform to my expectations for the next decade, at least!
I also bought the Kube with my R25. Reviews said it was a bit too small and they were right. I was only able to fit my Galaxy S3 with an extended battery and wallet in it but a money clip with 1 credit cards and paperwork should fit better with room to spare for a set of house keys.
I am so impressed with the Kriega brand that I just ordered the R3 waist pack for when I just ride. The first two Kriega items I own have lived up to my expectations so far. I believe the R3 will too!
Don't beat around the bush, If you are looking for a rugged, secure pack that looks as cool as it does serious, spend your hard-earned money on something that will last! Get a Kriega from ZLA, they are worth every penny and you will not regret it! By the way, I read reviews mentioning that people thought the pack looked like a base-jumper parachute...I got this compliment too! :-) Kriega and ZLA, great combination!
