After a long search for a motorcycle boot that has style, quality and rideability I came upon the Icon 1000. The Rev review was spot on. The buckles are adjustable, the zipper came off track on the first attempt to put on, I got it back on track, then decided to loosen the buckles, zip up then adjust the buckles accordingly. This is my second set of Icon boots...in my humble opinion, Icon gets it regarding stylish, yet functional motorcycle riding boots. Order a size larger, ran a little small for me.
Yes, I recommend this product.

can I plug into cigarette lighter port and use the heated gloves

I have a port on my handlebars. can I adapt the gloves to plug into the port instead of going to the battery?
check owners manual...the cig lighter may not be able to handle the volts/watts/amps needed to power...will blow the fuse.

do these gloves have heat on the palm side?

I cannot recall heat on that side of my hand, as the cold was on top due to the wind. All I really can tell you is my hands were not cold.

DC-heated, produces 15 watts of heatat 12.8 Volts (each glove) and should be used with a Firstgear Heat-Troller for optimum safety Y-Harness is required for use with Firstgear Heat-troller (unless you have a Firstgear heated liner, then this is unnecessary) Grade-A, top-grain, drum-dyed cowhide construction Porelle breathable, waterproof membrane Thinsulate layer Pre-curved fingers and finger-mounted,rubber, faceshield wiper Elastic wrist and adjustable hook-and-loop gauntlet closure Reinforced protection in palm Reflective piping on top Make sure to check out our Firstgear Heated Gear Buyers Guide

glove decision & sizing

I am trying to decide between Gerbing T5 & Firstgear carbon heated gloves.
Is the back of the hand heated on the firstgear like the Gerbing T5?
Both Brands were the same price. Is the Gerbing better for the extra $25?
Size: My hand measures 8.5", Gerbing chart is a clear medium, Firstgear is on the fence between medium & large?
thanks for your help.
Deny P.
don't know about the difference between the two products, but as stated in other post...best to go with the smaller size as the heat flows better next the skin when the glove is tight (tight should be taken in conjunction with comfort).

Where are the heating wires?

Does the finger tips are heated or only the back of the hand? The finger tips needs a lot more heat than anywhere else.
yes it keeps the tips of the fingers warm, heating over the top, not the bottom. so a tight fit is requried

What all comes in the box?

Hi! I'd like to know what all comes in the box with the permanent dual zone controller.

I already own a jacket & gloves (and a portable controller), but with buying a new full fairing motorcycle, I'd like something more permanently mounted.

THanks!
I got, battery connection, instructions and spare fuses.

What is needed with this?

If this is my first piece of heated gear, it looks like I also need to purchase:
1. A controller (single or dual, portable or fixed) and optional leather clip case if portable
2. A battery harness (http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/gerbings-battery-harness)

Is that correct? Anything else?
if this is your only piece of gear, a single controller will work fine. If you plan to obtain additional parts then you may need a dual controller. Dual allows you to maintain different temps for the different parts. For example you may want the jacket temp different than gloves or socks based on exposure to elements.

Which size should fit for me ?

My foot size is 7.5 but Icon Patrol Waterproof Boot is available only 7 or 8.
Which size should fit for me ?
Would you let me know how long for size 7 and 8 because my shoes 7.5 are about 11 inches long ?
Please let me know for making decision.
I also attach a picture of my shoes for reference.

In my opinion Icon runs small and tight, suggest going up, not down.

Are these boots waterproof? Resistant?

No they are not, I added mink oil to make them resistant to moisture, rain. Heck even the boots I have bought in the past that stated waterproof, got my feet wet. Unless they are rubber boots, the best I believe any boot can offer is "water resistant", but waterproof is an exaggeration in my opinion.
