Schuberth E1 Adventure Helmet The Schuberth E1 Helmet offers adventure riders a premium modular helmet designed to perform when the ride leaves the pavement. The Schuberth design team developed the E1 in Schuberths proprietary aeroacoustics lab, resulting in a helmet optimized for both aerodynamic and aeroacoustic performance. Schuberths Anti-Roll-Off System keeps the helmet in place, while the removable and washable inner lining allows riders to keep their helmet clean in between adventures. One of the most innovative features is the fully articulating peak visor, which can be adjusted to three different positions independently from the face shield and chin bar. The E1 can be worn with both the faceshield and peak in place, or riders may opt to easily remove either piece for the ride. The E1 also features a closable air vent in the chin bar to ensure that riders get enough air as the ride intensifies, while a removable and washable filter will help clean the air in dirty and dusty conditions. The E1 includes a built-in antenna for Schuberths SRC-System PRO. Utilizing the latest in Cardo communication technology, the Bluetooth SRC-System serves as an intercom with other riders and can connect to a GPS unit, MP3 player or mobile phone for navigation, music listening or phone calls. Features Interior liner has been designed with fewer seams and a more universal interior fit Improved EPS with integrated antennas for SRC-System which improves radio and Bluetooth range Micro-lock ratchet chin strap Large reflective panels on neckroll Improved faceshield ratchet mechanism Integrated sun visor Outer Shell The outer shell is offered in two helmet shell sizes and combines an aerodynamically optimal shape with excellent protection. It is manufactured using Schuberth's typical compression molding process and thus permits great stability and a low weight. Shell material S.T.R.O.N.G. fiber Helmet shell technology from SCHUBERTH permits low weight Glass fiber with a special resin added is compressed in a vacuum at high pressure to form a helmet shell which is exceptionally sturdy Perfected aerodynamics for higher speeds Upward lift 0! Directionally stable No oscillatory tendency No buffeting Spoiler integrated into the helmet shell SRC-System Ready The E1 is equipped to accommodate the SCHUBERTH SRC-System (sold separately). To guarantee ideal radio reception, the E1 is already equipped with two integrated antennas to boost FM and Bluetooth reception. Optimum reception at all times FM and Bluetooth antennas integrated into the helmet for optimum reception EPS The EPS foam liner is modular in design to ensure optimal shock absorption. This complex segmentation guarantees enhanced force absorption and distribution. Made of specially optimized EPS foam Complex multizone foaming allows optimal shock absorption Inner Lining A special inner lining of the E1 was developed according to Schuberth's innovative Comfort Fit concept that ensures the helmet fits comfortably and securely in all situations. The combination of carefully selected COOLMAX and Thermocool materials, with the additional use of Interpower coatings, also make the inner lining a highly-effective moisture removal and cooling system. COOLMAX pad system, completely removable and washable (hand wash, 30C) Optimized fit Variable venting for effective ventilation Adjustable for summer/winter Allergen-free Antibacterial Removable comfort cheek and head band pads Ventilation Thanks to the design of the vents, the supply of fresh air is increased by up to 60. The combination of multipath channels in the EPS foam liner and the head/chin/mouth ventilation ensures that fresh air is distributed effectively over the entire head area. A.R.O.S. and Neck Strap The Anti-Roll-Off System (A.R.O.S.) was especially developed by SCHUBERTH as a safety feature and is incorporated into every SCHUBERTH motorcycle helmet. It ensures that the helmet cannot roll off of the head when the chinstrap is closed and correctly adjusted The helmet cannot pivot off the head from behind The risk of contact between the chin section of the helmet and the chin or throat of the rider is minimized due to the small angle of tilt Reduces the chance of the helmet coming into contact with the chest as the result of an accident Precise setting of the chinstrap length through adjustment on both sides Micro-lock ratchet lock Face Shield The EasyChange visor mechanism makes changing visors extremely quick and simple without the use of tools. City position offers maximum ventilation while traveling at slower speeds Pinlock visor prevents shield from fogging DOT and ECE certified

There is no denying Shuberth's helmet quality (I've owned 2 C3Pro's) but the E1 misses the mark of being a dual sport helmet. The helmet is a C3 Pro in dual sport trim and that's not good enough. Simply put, the visor mechanism does not perform well after being subjected to dust & dirt conditions. Racing through the dirt in the wake of other riders roost Is not an ideal situation for a face shield. Air flow in dusty hot conditions is not all that it's cracked up to be in these types of conditions. Goggles are what's called for in off road riding conditions and finding a pair that adequately fit have yet to be found. I think Schuberth knows their extended market is not the true adventure rider but rather the adventure rider wanna be and for most riders this helmet will never see dirt. I could recommend this helmet for street riding but for going around the world, find something else.

I received the 20S last week but can't give a solid review of the product yet as I have not used it yet. I will update this in the near future.
What I can comment on is the customer service/help desk from Sena. Two words "They Suck"
The first troubles came when I tried to initially charge the unit (it charged up fine) but this led me to registering the product at the Sena website (no real issues there) This in turn led to downloading the firmware update. This is where the problems began. Apparently Sena DOES NOT get along with APPLE products and after sending emails and submitting a trouble ticket NO ANSWER from Sena. Did a few google searches and searched the Sena forum to find I'm not the only MAC user that is having problems. Bad form Sena for not disclosing none compatibility with Apple. I am still trying to resolve this issue.
FYI: The speaker system is ok for voice as it is intended but if you are planning to use it mostly for music as I do think again. I have another set of speakers on order to fill my fidelity need. To be fair I was never under the impression that the speakers were going to be great for listening to music, it's just something that people should be aware of.

I have 5 suits but the Klim Badlands suit is my go to suit. I've used the jacket & pants for 2 full years and although expensive it was money well spent. I bought the suit to ride my BMW R1200 GSA around China. I've also used it on a 10 day off road ride through Laos last December (High Season). I have had a total of 4 crashes while wearing this suit and believe me it has held up well and only suffered a minor tear in the upper right hand chest pocket. During the hotter months the venting is excellent while riding and in the rain although it does get wet I've always stayed dry. The only misconception about Gore Tex is that it stays water proof forever and that ain't so. I treat the suit at every wash with Nikwax and I'm good to go for the next rain. As with anything, nothing lasts forever and when this suit wears out you'd better believe I'll be getting another one.

Sidi Adventure GTX Boots The Sidi Adventure GTX Boots are the gold standard for adventure riding boots. Sidi pulled all the best bits from their famous line of off-road boots and combined them with the legendary quality of their road boots to create the glorious hybrid cyborg that is the Adventure Gore-Tex Boots. A bit more comfortable than off-road boots, the Adventure GTX boots incorporate a hinged ankle support, a rigid and shock-resistant heel cup and composite inner sole with a top grain leather construction, replaceable cam-lock buckles and a sweat wicking cambrelle lining. The slim adjustable calf fits easily inside the pant leg of most riding pants, something that is not always possible with a traditional off-road boot, making them all the more attractive to ADV advocates and enduro enthusiasts. To top off the list of premium features these boots are 100 waterproof and breathable with a Gore-Tex lining that is Guaranteed to Keep You Dry. Features Soft rubber sole for maximum grip Replaceable strap system Top grain leather construction Composite inner sole Removable arch support Exclusive cam-lock buckle system Cambrelle lining Slim, cool non-bootie design Rigid, shock resistant, anatomically shaped heel for maximum protection Split grain leather inner anti-wear/heat panel Single Flex System upper

I bought the boots for adventure riding in China & Laos and I haven't had a chance to use yet, so I will update this later. Having said that, I have tried them on and walked around in them, and so far I can't say enough about the construction quality of these boots. They even come with extra pieces to make repairs if you should need to. The boots are obviously not broken in yet, but they don't hurt my feet and actually feel as though they can be worn for long periods of time with no problems. The certainly have a presence about them that let's you know that they are the real deal. I look forward to updating the performance aspect in the near future.
