I wanted some riding shoes that provide protection & durability on the bike, and all day comfort and good looks off the bike. I have had one pair of riding shoes before, but the leather became scuffed and ugly very quickly. So, having experienced Dainese's quality before, I took a punt on the Vera Cruz - and I was not disappointed.
As soon as you remove them from the box, you can see the attention to detail of both the design and build. They're a fantastic looking shoe, and the materials are obviously really good quality. After riding and wearing them, I've also found the suede really resilient to little scrapes and bumps.
The rubber shifter guard is always going to make them look a bit like a riding shoe; but they are great looking and I've been wearing them with jeans at work and around town.
On the bike, they are comfortable and the rubber shifter guard and sole both provide a good amount of feel when changing gears etc.
In terms of fit. I am a size 44 on a brannock device, and wear size 44 in Chucks & Nikes. But, I am on the wide side of a F fitting, so sometimes wear size 45 in other brands. The size 44 Vera Cruz fit perfectly!
I definitely recommend these!

I bought the Union belt to match a Dainese Rapier jacket and possibly a range of trousers. To date, I've just used it with some Draggin jeans.
To attach the Union belt, you run a normal belt through the union belt and normal belt loops. The zip on the union belt then zips into a Dainese jacket. It's quite flexible and can work on any trousers that have belt loops. Aside from the fact it has a zip, it's quite a nice understated leather belt with just a subtle logo on the back, so you can walk around with no jacket and not look too odd.
I'm not sure its very useful unless you are wearing armoured trousers, but it is definitely a very functional, stylish and quality piece of equipment.

I put this into a Dainese Rapier jacket. It's a little tight when you push it through the zip, but once its in, its fits perfectly and there's no reason to take it out.
I was impressed at the size and thickness of this back protector, and how much coverage it offers. But despite its size, it's quite light and very comfortable - I barely notice its there.
I would definitely recommend.

The thorax protector seems like a good solid piece of armour. It's thicker than I thought it would be and covers most of my chest and certainly gives the impression that it will be an excellent layer of protection should I ever have need for it.
At first it seemed a little big, but actually it's very easy and quick to fit - just slot it into the left side of the chest, zip up, and it quite comfortably stays in place when riding.
Air flow seems very good, but it doesn't get very hot here.

I bought the Dainese Rapier in White/Black. My main reason for buying this jacket was that Dainese fit me much better than other brands - I like a snug fit (I'm 6", 79 kg - size 52). It is a great looking, high quality jacket with very nice leather and it really looks distinctive when riding.
I have two minor issues with it.
1. It only really has two side pockets and one internal pocket (one internal pocket in the jacket, one in the removable liner, but you can only access one at once). I suppose this is to accommodate the thorax protector, but I do miss my vertical chest exterior pocket.
2. The arms a just a little short/narrow at the wrist. I like to wear my gloves under my jacket and they're a little tight. I guess this is a sizing issue.
Even given these little issues, I really like this jacket and wouldn't hesitate to buy this again!
Revzilla's service was awesome.
