Since I'm a new rider and I won't be taking my bike out much when rain/sleet hits this year, I decided not to get winter gloves...yet. Instead, I bought these summer gloves in anticipation for next summer. My main concerns when shopping for gloves were knuckle protection, pinky protection in case of low side slide, and leather for comfort/dexterity. Of couse, style was also big on this list...and after doing a bit of research, these Dainese 4 Stroke gloves stood out the most.
Riding with the gloves:
Once I got the gloves, they felt so great on my hands that I had to take the bike out for a bit of riding...
The first time I went out with them, it was 38 degrees fahrenheit and my hands were pretty chilly. So I tried on some knitted gloves underneath and rode in 35 deg fahrenheit and that didn't help either. After a 45 min ride, my hands were freezing. BUT, riding in 45 deg fahrenheit and above, they are great! So, overall...these gloves have fantastic ventilation, the leather doesn't take long to break in at all, knuckle protection is hefty, pinky protection along with low side skid protection on palms are excellent. All these features wrapped up in one stylish glove in my opinion. Also, the dexterity from this glove is amazing.
Yes, I recommend this product.

These are socks are great for the late fall weather when it gets into the 40's. I haven't tried them below 40's yet, but I would imagine they work great.
They fit very well for womens average size feet. I'm a size 8 in womens and I had to buy the smallest size (35-38) these came in. They are comfortable and hold warmth very well. No cold extremities for me!
Thanks RevZilla!

So...I didn't want to put bags on my bike because it would take the "raw" look away so I decided to get a backpack for commuting. :) Anyway, I chose this backpack because it was in my budget and it had the expandable feature. Since I'm a small person, I really like the idea of a small backpack with the ability to gain more storage space but not so much where I'll topple over.
Riding with the backpack:
I live in IL and I take the highway when I commute so the strap pocket (chest pocket) helps carry my iPass well. With a Macbook, some folders for work, Sennheiser headphones, and a whole bunch of miscellaneous things, I don't feel any wind drag at all. The backpack sits well on my body and it's comfortable to wear. I haven't used the expandable function yet so I can't comment. As far as the helmet pocket (hidden), it looked strange when I first got the backpack but when I used it, it actually works great!! I walked around for a bit with the helmet attached to the backpack and I didn't feel quite as tired.
So overall, great product and I would recommend this to short women (I'm 5'3") or just anyone short really. :)

Well, I never thought I would own an Italian motorcycle jacket but after doing the research (mostly at revzilla.com, hehe), I decided to go with the Avro Textile jacket. This thing is so comfortable on me. For all the women who are interested in this jacket (I know I had a hard time finding a perfect fit when I was looking), this is the perfect fit if you don't have a very pronounced hour-glass shape figure. My chest is small compared to my hips (slight hour-glass shape body) so I had to go one size up and it fits perfectly. So if your chest is smaller than your hips...choose the jacket size base on your hips rather than your chest, otherwise you will have a hard time fitting this jacket around the hips.
On another note, my metrics:
5'3", chest: 37", hip: 40" ---> Jacket size: 46
So for all the women out there looking for some good Itallian motorcycle jacket, look no further, because let's face it, the men's jackets often look better than some of the women's jackets. ;)
As far as riding with the jacket:
I've taken this jacket out in 40-degree fahrenheit weather and I didn't feel cold at all. I haven't tried riding in below 40 yet, but I will! But, when I rode in 68-degree fahrenheit weather, I did sweat a little bit. There are only two ventilation ports on this jacket...in the back and to me it's not enough. I wouldn't use this jacket in late Spring, Summer, but for late Fall/early Winter, it's perfect!
Thanks RevZilla!

I thought this helmet was excellent. The price at $200 was affordable for a stylish helmet with great functionality (one-pull strap system, interior visor, anti-fog, great airflow). I thought the air flow on this helmet was tremendously good compared to other helmets I've worn. The removable inner padding is a great plus...I got the chance to wash it and once re-installed, it's like a new lining in the helmet all over again. It's such a good helmet that my significant other (who never wears full-face helmet) decided to get one as well. Very good product for this price point. Highly recommended.

Would this work with a jacket with a race hump?

I just bought the Astars MX-1 jacket. The race hump on my jacket isnt huge but still, would this back pack be able to hang low enough to sit a little below the hump? Other generic backpacks with no chest straps work with my jacket because I can hang them pretty low, but I am really wanting to buy a real riding backpack and this one seems awesome if it would work.
With the strap fastened, this backpack sits really high so it will definitely touch your race hump regardless how big it is.

Is this waterproof or water resistant?

Does the Cordura on this jacket have a coating to make it water repellent or waterproof?
I"m sorry, but it doesn't. It's not meant for riding in the rain.
