Icon One Thousand Elsinore Boots The Icon 1000 Elsinore's five-strap, alloy-buckle chassis, stamped metal heel plate, and internal steel shank combine for a serious dose of moto-x homage. The traditional Goodyear welt construction mates the Icon street-specific sole to the magnificent leather upper. A medial entry zipper, allocated from Paratrooper jump boots, is the only luxury the Elsinore will allow itself. A modern relic from an era when men were iron and tanks were steel. The Elsinore, old-school MX reinterpreted for the urban sprawl. My first impression of the Elsinores were a little disappointed. They seemed not as well constructed, or sleek as they appear on the advertising. Also the fit was not as comfortable as I was expecting. These are my third pair of bike boots, coming from River Road engineer boots and Dainese's. Never experienced slipping with previous boots (I ride 5 days a week; wet/dry weather), but my third day in with these boots my left foot slid when I was stopped at a red light, didn't notice puddles or oil on street. Odd. It's been three weeks now with the Elsinores, and with the breaking in they feel a lot more comfortable and preform better. Also, the dirtier and more worn they get, the better they feel and look... Not very keen on the "made in China", oh well...

Fitment
Totally wanting to buy the Elsinore boots. My fear is I usually wear a 8 1/2 to a 9". Do they run big or small? Not sure if I should order the size 9" or stay with 8 1/2?
I wear 11 1/2 and got the Elsinores in a 12. They fit fine! Took a little while to break in. I have just enough room for a thicker sock for winter.
